Diesel had a big increase in price this week, going up 10.5¢ to reach $2.705/gallon, according to Monday’s weekly update from the Energy Information Administration. The rise in diesel prices reflects the recent increase in crude oil prices, which reached $79.59/barrel today. Weakness in the dollar has been a significant factor in the price of oil recently, along with the start of the home heating season, and it is likely that prices will continue to rise.
