U.S. Marshals are still looking for the man suspected of murdering a truck driver during what they think was a botched robbery attempt at a loading dock in Pennsylvania. According to investigators, the victim was killed for just $20.
The victim, 63-year-old Thomas Childs was shot and killed over a year ago on June 9th, 2015. His alleged killer, Rodney Shelton, approached Childs at a loading dock just west of Philadelphia. Exact details of the robbery are not known, but investigators believe that the robbery went wrong, Childs was shot, and Shelton made off with less than $20.
“Rodney Shelton’s blatant disregard for human life has made this case a top priority for us,” U.S. Marshal David B. Webb of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said in a press release. “Our deputy U.S. marshals and our federal, state and local law enforcement partners will leave no stone unturned until this dangerous fugitive faces justice.”
According to Webb, since Shelton has been in hiding for over a year, it is likely that he is now hiding in plain sight, perhaps working as a tattoo artist. “He could be anywhere,” Webb added.
The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up to $1,500 for any information leading to Shelton’s arrest and the Citizens Crime Commission in Philadelphia is offering $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information, contact the U.S. Marshals at (877) 926-8332, at (800) 336-0102 or email them at usms.wanted@usdoj.gov.
“Because of the callous nature of this crime, Shelton should be considered armed and dangerous,” Webb said.

“top priority” …… guy is still at large more than a year after the murder.
Dan says
You would think “Top Priority” would warrant more than 1500 dollars wouldn’t you? Isn’t that equal to about 30 dollars in 1970 money?
Bigr504 says
You got that rite!
Robin says
Yeah, it’s a real top priority, alright! If it were, they would have nabbed him by now, especially with all the public cams, and social media! He’s probably got a drivers license, listed address, and a Facebook page! I wonder how many leads they have gotten that have went unchecked. Rats love to rat out their so called friends! I have to call BS on this being called a priority! If the truck driver would have been a cop, you can be sure the scum would have already been caught!
My sincere condolences to the poor family.

Yes sir, my thoughts exactly! I’ve always said that if every murder were given the same type of top priority treatment that an “important person” were afforded, it might just cause some of these inhuman bottom feeding Neanderthals to give pause before taking someone’s life! Condolences to the driver’s family.

Well, they would have caught and prosecuted *somebody*. Not necessarily the actual robber, but they would have someone in custody…
Robin says
A quick search of him shows that he has very distinct freckles all over his face…he can grow his hair to hide his tattoo’s, but he is surely known by his heavy freckles covering his face! They ought to check his mama’s house, seeing as this is a top priority case…
Jude Ossowski says
Come on guys. Give him a break. He only killed a truck driver. It’s not like he killed anyone important like a welfare queen or junkie. (It’s called “sarcasm”.)
Jdog says
Even when they catch him, he will get a lawyer, more rights than me or you, and a stern “please don’t do it anymore” from our legal system. Anything else may cause a riot in the streets.

I live in the area, and this is the first time I’m hearing of this story.
“Top priority” my ash.
