Illinois Tolls:
Truckers Need To Fight NOW!!

Targeting Trucks: After tolls were nearly
tripled on Illinois' toll roads and truckers began
diverting to US41 (just north of Chicago) weigh
stations, inspections, and general hassles for
truckers were put into overdrive.
The drop in truckers using the toll roads was
reported to be as high as 10% raising the ire of
many local residents.
According to Landline Magazine,
State Police officers assigned to commercial
enforcement said Feb. 24 that they would conduct
“special inspection details” and use portable scales
on the road. Truckers said in March that the stepped
up enforcement had already begun.
Illinois Gov
Rod Blagojevich said, “As major changes to the toll
way get under way, we’ve heard from local residents
who are concerned about the short-term impact on
local traffic flow – especially from commercial
trucks,”.
I do not blame the residents of this area for being
angry but I DO blame the Illinois Toll Authority.
These residents should blame the Ill Toll
authority & Rod Blagojevich as well, not the
truckers. Truckers, like everyone else, do
NOT appreciate getting ripped off. The
highways are so poor in Ill and the traffic so
miserable that only an imbecile would put up with
this affront.

that Gov Rod Blagojevich of Ill hates truckers and I
advocate fighting back! What to do? I
say that ALL truckers run around the tolls.
IF ALL truckers would get off the toll roads and run
the alternative routes then they would be "buried"
in trucks through these towns. Of course they
would increase the harassment in these areas but
guess what? They cannot get all of you!
The fact is that IF all truckers did this and they
did expand inspections they HAVE to pay for the
troopers to do these inspections!
