The Trucker's Report™
would like to give a heartfelt apology to the
family of 31 year old TN Trooper Todd Larkins
who was killed by another trucker Mitchell
Bowers on July 8th.
Although NOTHING can
console the grieving family at this time we wanted
to let the family know that we do empathize with
them in their time of grief. The "good"
truckers on the highway truly are saddened by yet
another tragic death of this sort.
The highways today are a terrible place and
the ONLY ones who do protect us are the State
Troopers and we are truly grateful for their
services.

The owner of The Trucker's Report™
is a resident of Big Sandy, TN. Not long ago I
had news of 2 other Troopers killed in Jackson, TN.
I believe Tennessee MUST enact laws similar to
Indiana & Colorado stating motorists MUST get over
(or slow down) when encountering emergency vehicles.
UPDATE: After the airing of this report
on WSMV TV (Channel 4 Nashville, TN) on Aug 17th we
were made aware of a law in TN that does require
vehicles to move over or slow down when encountering
emergency vehicles in TN. So this being the
case TN should erect signs similar to Indiana
whereby there would be NO doubt of this law.
On my way home just last night I encountered a
trucker who was so tired he almost hit me and
others. He was swerving off the right shoulder
and then back into the left lane almost hitting me.
I called the TN State Patrol to report him as we
were about to come into the weigh station.
The TN State Patrol stated they would alert the
weigh master and talk to him. I do not know
whether they took him off the road last night BUT if
they did not I have no doubt that he would KILL.
IF a State Trooper would have been on the side at
the moment I saw this driver he most likely would
have perished due to this imbecile...
