Sirius
or XM, Which Is For Me?

A lot of people have
asked me which I think is best for satellite radio
so I've decided to make a review of both XM and
Sirius. I've had BOTH of these myself. Below are the
pros and cons of each as I see it to help you
decide.

Pros:
Sirius has a good handle on their decibel
level & the level stays the same even
throughout commercials, etc. XM is VERY POOR
regarding this.
Sirius has the BEST music
selections by far. Sirius has the best
reception for some reason. Sirius rarely looses
reception, EVEN in tunnels.
Cons:
Sirius WILL preempt ANY shows you like to place
sports shows in their stead.
This is the WORST part about Sirius satellite
radio.
If you are indeed a sports "nut" then Sirius is
for you! IF you are more of an intellectual
and like to learn, use your mind, etc then
Sirius is NOT for you. The reason I switched to
XM is because of their "sports preemption policy".
My Sirius Rating:

Pros: XM radio
does NOT preempt
regular channels or shows to insert sports. They
have specific channels for sports. XM has the
best talk show channels.
Cons: XM ha
s
a bad problem with their decibel levels. The
decibel levels are constantly changing,
ear-splitting, and you cannot stop this.
Especially the ASK channel. May people have
complained about the decibel levels but they will
NOT try to change this problem. It is
maddening to be listening to a good show and a
commercial comes on and goes so loud it will make
you jump out of your skin! XM radio has a
problem with reception (probably due to the
location of the satellite).
My XM Rating:

Conclusion: BOTH services are POOR and need a
lot of work.
