Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving 18 wheels of justice was a TNN original show that lasted 44 episodes... it wasn't all that bad... a story about a cop working undercover as a truck driver....

Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving Actually, Cannonball was a Canadian based show that was produced in the late 50's, lasted for about 2 years. Two drivers, Mike Malone and Jerry Austin, drove their truck (an old 50's GMC 950 Cabover), around hauling any kind of cargo anywhere, and of course they ran into various situations and helped people along the way. In one episode, they had to evacuate someone in an iron lung, and had to keep it going in the trailer to keep the person alive. Not too bad of an old show, though I don't think it ever made it onto DVD's. Played on reruns into the late 60's, but doesn't seem to be on anymore. Compared to the BJ and the Bear type of crapola, it was a reasonably realistic show for it's time.

Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving ok, i don't watch TNN anymore, in fact, that too is defunct. as for cannonball, i never saw that, and being from canada back then, i don't think it made it to american tv, at least not in its original format. i never even seen it in reruns. in fact, i haven't seen "Highway Patrol"(with Brodrick Crawford 10-4 10-4, remember he would say that...?), or Car 54 (where are you?) on TVLand either. i would think those old shows would be good "filler" material. anyhow, i posted my favorite movies earlier.

Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving Cannonball made it to stateside tv, or I wouldn;t have seen it when i was younger. It's just not a show in demand and never made it into DVD. A lot of the older shows never have. By the way, it's from the show that the old 50's GMC cabovers picked up the names of Cannonball's.

Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving i also watched "cannonball" when i was a kid here in indiana. i rarely ever missed an episode. it portrayed truckers in a very positive light. i still remember the theme song. the old bubblenoe jimmy would become my favorite truck, and years later, i would come to own one (still do. it's a 1951 g.m.c. cabover). b.j. and the bear was stupid at best, but not nearly as stupid as half the crap i've seen in truckstops over the years, and certainly not as stupid as 30 seconds on the c.b. every day.

Re: Classic movies and shows about Truck Driving Parker's Pickup I found the DVD in the bargain bin somewhere. Be forewarned, if you find this movie it's painfully bad, the only saving grace being the Peterbilt 359 Corvette.
