Google Maps

Alright, I have fun doing this. You can write an address, say for instance:

9757 Military parkway, Dallas, TX 75227

Go to [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. type the address into the search box. hit enter, a map will pop up; on the top right corner of the map will be three buttons one of them is satellite, click on it. Now you can get a picture from above of what the place looks like. Zoom options are on the left side of the screen. If you want to know where you are going before hand and see what it looks like, then this is a good tool. Some places you can't zoom all the way.

The address above is of Stevens Transport terminal in Dallas, TX; I used this satellite before I went to train there. It's just fun to do.

I wasn't aware of google earth, I will check it out. My dad was showing me places he use to work that held top secret projects; It was amazing that these places showed up on the satellite...but I couldn't get certain towns and counties to show up, I will see if google earth does...appreciate you bringing it up.

I tried the google earth, its the same pictures from the online version. The downloaded google earth works much faster, also you can give it a starting point and a destination push play, and it will follow the road all the way to where your going. Its pretty darn cool.

thanks, but i like "free" stuff from the web. very rarely do i pay for much on the web, unless its shopping for computer parts or other items of interest.

ANOTHER GOOGLE TIDBIT:
If you type:
inurl:"axis-cgi/mjpg"
inurl:"ViewFrame?Mode="
inurl:"view/index.shtml"
OR
inurl:"MultiCameraFrame?Mode="

into the Google Search, it will bring up HUNDREDS of Network WebCams from all over the world. Many of these cams allow pan, zoom, tilt and other features.
They are in places such as Golf Courses (no telling what you see happening on the greens after dark!), universities, and even peoples homes.
Today, I watched some dork at Berkley U try to operate a FAX machine. The camera was a block away, and I operated it from 2400 miles away.
