| Some companies are exploiting the whole "Christian" thing, hoping we'll all believe that because they say they're Christian, their company runs ethically and deals fairly with customers and drivers. Cypress Truck Lines in Jacksonville, Florida is one of those. As much time as the owners spend at their main terminal, they cannot possibly be ignorant of the hideous abuse of new drivers that goes on. Their web site makes wonderful claims about safety being their top priority and their equipment being "late model" (mine was a 1989 KW - hardly "late model), and they make mention of the company's founding by a "devout Christian trucker." In reality their dealings with everyone in my recruit/orientation class were dishonest, unsafe, and even cruel. The only way to know if a company is truly "Christian" (or is at least run ethically) is to talk to their drivers. I bet there are other companies that could serve as similar examples. A Christian myself, I believe we are to think the best of others and take them at their word. And to forgive when wronged. While I can forgive almost any offense, the one that I have the most trouble forgiving is dishonesty, especially when it comes from someone in a position of power or authority, and most especially when the name of my Lord is used to lend credibility to their claims. -Robin |

| Robin hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't believe 9/10s of the companies that claim they are founded on christian principals any farther than I could throw them.

| I agree with you all. While I do agree with you all. The really sad thing is, Christians like these are giving those of us who try to live as good a Christian life as we can a bad reputation. I have worked for Christian owners before and find them to pay low, equipment is let go and so forth. The reason I was looking for Christian owned trucking companies, is, I have been driving for 28 years and I started a non-profit (truckers news magazine did an article on me back in December [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. ) making free home repairs for the elderly and the disabled, paying for most of this out of my own pocket. I thought since we got our 501c3 from the IRS last year and are now a public charity, those companies might contribute to our organization and we could help more people. What do you think their replies have been so far? "That is a very nice thing you're doing, we'll pray for you". Well, I can use the prayers, but, I have 33 old folks who have rain coming into their homes as you read this, they run about 5000 a roof. Christians (even Churches), I have found to be so tight, I bet they carry a light bulb from room to room because they're too cheap to buy any. I'll just keep pluggin away at it and I will help all those I can. Bill
