To signal or not??

I have been driving for some time and i have seen many drivers not using signals when changing lanes. Why i wounder it seems to me that if their is no vehicle in that lane.its ok not to signal.Well its not so why is this going on???.I think som are either on the phone or just do give a CRAP. WE have to do a better job. Sure sometimes it happens when your cutoff, sure i can see that but for no reason...just move into any lane with out a SIGNAL,its just wrong..

I see it not only at courteous but a large safety issue as well.
I drive I-94 alot up here in Michigan and it's known for alot of traffic congestion near Ann Arbor to Detroit.

YOU get people changing lanes without any notice and you start having trouble in all that mess.

I have to admit though, I see more 18 wheelers trying to communicate with signals more then I do other vehicles.

...and ignorant. It really irks me when someone doesn't do something as simple as using their turn signal, to let you know that they are changing lanes or turning off the road. To me, it's like they are giving you the one finger salute.

If you signal every time, you will eventually just do it automatically, without even thinking about it, so do it all the time, and every time, much safer that way.

Cool Programed Aggressiveness...

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've needed the hammer lane, in a desperate way, only to have some azzclown in a four wheeler kick in the after-burners to close the gap after seeing my left turn signal. Arrgh! Now I gotta' get wound back up for another shot at passing.

Therefore, when I see I've got time to get the lane, without endangerment, I won't signal, and give "Cell Phone Sally" a chance to block me in. I'll just plop it right over there. Works every time.

Other than that situation, I always give lots of signal.
