| I'd Like to Get Some Opinions Hello All, I've been lurking for a bit gathering information for a project of mine, so I thought I would register and show it to yall. It is a self-powered, all-in-one comuter based diagnostic system specifically geared towards the trucking industry. It will run over 24 hours on a single charge. The interface box is integrated into the cart(no more running over or dropping it!) If no electricity is available a fuel cell based electrical system powered by compressed hydrogen(completely safe) can be used. Coolest part(to me anyway)...it turns on and off with those keys hanging off the side. It does a hard system shutdown as well as a soft shutdown on the computer. I won't get into any more of it because I don't want to sound like I am advertising(if this is too close to advertising, feel free to remove the thread). I'd like to get some thoughts and criticism on the design from actual people in the trucking industry, so if you have any comments or questions, don't hesitate to make them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for comments and looking! -Cole Last edited by Coleasterling; 06.12.2007 at 03.26 AM. |

| Asthetics, usability, anything along those lines. I figure yall have at least some experience in repairs or diagnostics. I kinda doubt this would be a good place to advertise this anyway. It is marketed towards large shops and dealerships. |

| I think someone who is a mechanic would be better suited to answer your questions. It's not that we don't want to but honestly I for one have no practical knowledge as to how one works in the first place. It looks like it would be very mobile which is a good point. Other than that I'm sorry I can't be of more help. |

| The diamond plated material will gather grease, dust, etc. Most mechanics keep thier toolboxes and work area clean. That diamond plate will drive them crazy trying to keep it clean. A smooth surface would be better, not to mention your cost in materials as well.
