they probaly blame the driver that hit the cop for causing the accident. Here were I live it is a common pratice to blame the other person if it was a cop's fault. Case in point I was out walking one evening and I seen this pizza driver driving he had the green light so he was going through the intersection here come a cop at t-bones the the pizza driver. The pizza driver comes over to me while he is waiting on a wrecker to come and get his car he asked did you see the accident I said yep you had the green light and the cop was speeding and ran the red light he had no emergency lights seirn on then he t-boned you. The pizza driver then said he got a ticket for causing the accident for failue to yeild or running the red light I forgot which one it was it has been years ago. I then gave one of my cards to the pizza driver and said if you need a witness for insurance or for court I will be glad to tell everything I had seen. I heard from the insurance company and told them what I saw. Later I seen the pizza driver and he told me that the city had to pay for his car. Maybe that is why the cops use to pick on me because I stood up against them and spoke up for the pizza driver.

Gotta to love pizza guys. I used to be one. That was 20 years ago and I was making 500.00 a week. I know it doesnt sound like alot, but I made as much as my dad did working for evenrude. Problem was I spent mine on fast food. And my parents spent theirs on paying bills and 401K. Very cool that you were in the right place at the right time. I still remember the judge telling me its his "cop" word againts mine.

Cops are on a level all by themselves in their eyes, and unfortunately, their eyes are what counts in many situations. We cannot speed, yet they can drive as fast as they please en route to a donut shop. We must use turn signals, yet they seldom appear to work on a police car, that or the officer never learned how to use them. Police have an unwritten code to not arrest or ticket another officer if at all possible, which I think is crap. Just because you are an officer of the law does not make you above the laws that you are paid to enforce. If you know many cops, you know that this unwritten code is for real. It has nothing to do with the color of your skin, just a matter of law enforcement officers treating their fellow employees differently than a typical civilian.

Yes and no Its a fact that racial profiling in effect alot. I do feel that if 20% do the crimes that is not wrong to keep an eye on what is going on. I remember when it was said that the drug laws in DC "washington" were wrong becouse they pick on minorities. It unfairly puts more minorities in jail than not. Ok its wrong to pick on any one wronly!!!!

| It's a bit like lawyers & politicians...there ARE good ones out there, but the 95% that are stupid and/or evil ruin it for the honest ones. For a true thrill, try riding a motorcycle with a Crown Vic's pushbar a foot from the back wheel. Liz says she's ready to start carrying a pound of roofing nails.

I remember my first speeding ticket. It was back when I was a driving instructor. I spent 12 hours a day in my car teaching teenagers to drive and let me tell you, I was aware of EVERYTHING that was going on around me. I was driving down the freeway at night, through our local speed trap. Everyone local knows not to speed down this section of freeway; half the tickets in California must come from this spot. So anyway, I am driving down the freeway, doing the speed limit. At one point, I pass a big rig, he was doing his legal limit of 55 and I was doing my legal limit of 65. I see the CHP hop on the freeway and instantly pull me over. She claims that she has been following me for two miles, all the way down the grade. That was a flat out lie since I saw her enter the freeway. My favorite line though was the reason that she gave me the ticket. She pointed out that I passed the big rig. I said, yes I did, but his speed limit is 55 and mine is 65 so I had to pass him. She then said, "Truckers never do the speed limit, so he had to be going over 65. If you passed him, then you had to be speeding." That was her entire basis for my speeding ticket. But of course, her word against mine. It figured, because this occurred on April Fools Day.
