He was fired

over some out of route miles. I don't know the whole story, but the company left him and our 15 year old daughter stranded in Denver CO. They are at the company yard, and Jolene is so upset.

My uncle is going to pick him up so they can stay with him until we get there. Uncle Bob and I are going on a roadtrip I guess, because we sure can't ship all of his equipment home.

I'll see ya'll in a few days.

Bonnie

Probably more to the story than that, but no matter what that SUCKS to just be dumped out in the cold or heat as it is this time of year!

..my co. doesnt track out-of-route miles, but will nail you for other things---U-turns, 'their version' of Sitting Duck policy (no parking even if legally and in roadway of industrial park!), etc. Depends on whether they like you or not and how long you been with the co. about 'displinary action!'

What company did he work for?

Can we get the whole real story?

Did he have permission to have the kid/passenger with him?

I'm home, and EXHAUSTED! Uncle Bob and I covered the distance between here and Denver and BACK, a total of 2300 miles, in 54 hours. That includes having to find a hotel the second night, because we couldn't stay awake anymore, and the station wagon has no sleeper. Quite frankly I'm proud of us!

I'll get back to you on questions later!

Bonnie

Okay, I'm up and dressed.

The Company is Spirit Express Trucking out of Commerce City Colorado. It seems since he got this "new" truck, he was consistantly 21.2% out of route. (seems strange to me, to be consistantly the same % out of route?)

They were very good to us, until one of the co-owners passed on, and then it started a downhill run.

After a long talk with him what I got was that he had been warned about it, and he explained that he was staying in route, as much as possible. When they called him in to discuss it a second time, the office manager got this wild hair going, and gave him 2 choices. A voluntary quit, and they leave his DAC alone, or a "you're fired" and they WILL #### up his DAC.

None of this makes sense to me yet. I just don't get it. I'm still stuck on hte fact that 3 weeks ago, he was one of the top 20 drivers.

And yes, he had permission to have Jolene with him.

Bonnie
