It isn't such a great thing.. LOL

I've been sitting here, at this desk, working on genealogy. There really isn't much left to do on any of the lines.

We started on this because for years we have all been told that Grandma was full-blood Choctaw. We have proven that she could not have been. At most, she was 1/4.

But, in the process, we have traced these lines back to nearly every ancient crowned head of Europe.

I have decided that this is not such a great thing. If you read your history, these crowns were basically "stolen" by being the meaner, the more vindictive... Basically, it means my family decends from the biggest ########## in Europe!

Who wants to decend from that??? Sorry, just my sleep deprived mind wandering all over the place!

Nite folks. It's time for me to sleep!

My sister was big into this family history stuff.

I found that some of my relatives were moonshiners from the Hills, and it went way back to England as we were just common folk of woodcarvers and musical talents.

My sister is big into this as well. She has found relatives back East and when she was working in Ireland she toured all over and went to the town that our great-grandmother was from.

I want a few moonshiners! I'd rather claim pirates, and gunslingers and outlaws! They are so much more interesting! I'll swap some of my kings and queens for a few of your good ole boys!

What you are saying is that, in effect, 'The biggest criminals are at the top of society.' I don't think much has changed. I wonder about my ancestors but that is as far as I have taken the time to do, I'm just not that interested, the ones I do know about are interesting enough.

I think this stuff is really cool. My Great-Uncle drug into it and made a book for the family. He found old pictures and tracked people down, we did find out that the big ears (my dad, sister, my youngest son) came from my great-great-great grandmother! Pictures don't lie!! LOL

No doubt about it! Look at how these people got their crowns! Nope, not much has changed!

We have tons of the old pictures, and have our own tree on Ancestry. We just couln't store it all on the computer without bogging it down!

Well, good news, you probably aren't descended from all the kings and queens. Each generation you've got a 10% chance that who you think is yo daddy isn't, momma's been messing around. Dirty secret revealed by genetics.

90% accurate first generation.
81% that Gramps is actually gramps.
72% that Great Grandpa is for real.
etc...
