Thumbs up Ice Road Truckers--Off the Ice

A post meeting with the 'stars' of the reality series this Sunday evening. If like the 'After the Catch' show following 'The Deadliest Catch' series of crab fishing in Bering sea, should be good!!

"The truckers look back at their experiences during the last ice road season and explain what they do now that they're off the ice. Tensions are sure to be high as both Rick and Drew have not spoken to Hugh since leaving the ice roads prematurely. T.J., the rookie, has had time to reflect on his time up north and will discuss whether or not he'll be back up on the ice roads next year. Alex and Jay, full-time residents of Yellowknife, are sure to have some thoughts on how the locals feel about the spotlight that has been shined on their small town"

I have heard from a few of the drivers that it will be interesting but not what everyone wants.. No fights, just some words and stuff...

But heard that there was some BEHIND the scenes action also...

Counting down the hours

It was an ok meeting....Alex and Hugh did most of the talking. It seemed as though Drew, Rick and Hugh were getting along fine which is good.

Hugh did say he would never hire Drew again!

I was very unimpressed
The narrator was lame
But Hugh didn't look as bad as in the original show

Really bad facilitator! And TJ just talked too much! Yeah you get us old farts with many 'life experiences' together and it's 'we got lots too say!' ha ha All seemed to have aged since the series (lots of gray and Jay looked older!)---what is this at least 1 yr later?!

I'm sure that they will do another one this winter, but what can really be different---more breakdowns, more close calls or accidents, more personality conflicts, etc. But the gist of trucking freight in general is 'hop-scotching' loads around the country, and just good work disciplines and consistancy is the day-to-day grind! Maybe it's like NASCAR---everybody is waiting to see 'the accident!'
