Books on CD

So, does anyone listen to books on CD or tape? And do you have any trouble concentrating somewhere between the traffic around you and the audio?
What books have you listened to?

There may already be a thread on this topic...?

I have over 200 audio books in the MP3 cd format. Less changing of the cd that way.

I primarily listen to them and to xm radio. Cannot remember last time my am or fm was ever on.

As a general rule, I turn off the radio in heavy traffic or when I am truly looking for a location. Less distractions.

I'm addicted to them! The only time I won't listen to them is in heavy traffic! I have them going while I am doing housework too! (Only for some reason it doesn't work too well when I run the vaccuum?)

I drive mostly at night and I listen to books on c.d., they help keep me awake. I have listened to them in heavy traffic and have not had any problems concentrating on traffic. I find them less distracting then the cb. I do not change cd's in heavy traffic, that can be cubersome sometimes. Do look when you check them out to make sure all the cd's are there. I got one, one time that had 12 cd's. I listened to 11 and went for the last one and it was not there...AAAGGGHHHH. I really wanted to know how that one ended. I did get a refund, it was considered defective. I figure someone just forgot to eject the last disk. Remember eject...lol

I use the local library to take out whatever books I can find on CD.
I like other members usually have no CD, radio etc when in heavy traffic or looking for an address.

I might have to give them a try. I used to be an avid book reader. I have tons of hard cover books that I have read. With my current job I don't have the time to start and finish a novel. My wife swears by the audio books but I haven't made the plunge yet. My favorite author is Tom Clancy, the book "Rainbow Six" scared the crap out of me. I like his novels because you can picture the scenarios really happening, kinda makes you open your eyes to things.

I like Tom Clancy, I have all of his books and some of the power play.
Have Harry Potter series, Robert Ludlum, James Patterson, and many others.

I used to read all the time and really enjoyed it. Somehow over time I got to where I would not read books anymore. Now that I am back OTR I have started reading books again and have to say that there is something about reading that is so much better than watching a movie. Reading is something that is slowly becoming a thing of the past in today's fast paced lifestyle.

I used to read all the time too. I missed it but was always to tired to read when I wasn't driving. Thats why I like the books on c.d. I was truly amazed by the variety of books they have.

Books On Tape

I listened to books on tape years ago. It works better when you have a long haul job. I listened to "Into The Wild", and now I am waiting for the movie to come out next month.
