Anyone else sick?

I've been sick as a dog with this cold for the past week with no signs of shakin it. Plenty of Dayquil, Nyquil, Hot Toddy's and coffee. Man I can't stand being sick! At least I'm at home with it though.

i haven't gotten sick ever since i joined the army in 2001 they gave me some kind of shot we had to sign off for, and since then i haven't gotten the Flu, Cough, or Cold, how ever since i gotten that shot i get this random fever that lasts for 24 hours I've had it three times i run a temp of 105-108 and shake uncontrollably and feel like im freezing and sweat at the same time.. but i guess its a good trade off for never getting sick

I think I got the same shot when I was in the Navy... rarely get a cold or the flu, but its really bad when I do. I get the same symptoms sometimes as well. The VA is no help for anything either.

I joined the Army in '95 and have never had the flu since then either. I've had an occasional cold, but it never lasts longer than two or three days. I don't remember signing anything specifically for shots. Shoot, I signed so many forms those first few days that I couldn't tell u for sure if I signed my soul over to the devil or not. All I remember is walking thru this line with guys standing on either side of me and my fellow soldiers holding air guns that shot the medicine/vaccines into our upper arms with air pressure instead of needles. I felt like a steer heading off to market that day.

I went in 2000, they did away with the air shots. I got the thousand needles. Nothing like 5 medics stabbing you arm at a time with shots.. then theres the infamous "peanut butter" shot of penacilin.. or however its spelled. I didn't sit down right for a week.

fortunately for me I am allergic to penicillin. that's the only time having that allergy was a benefit to me.

I got it 3 times. Entering bootcamp. Then twice because they lost my medical records. I never once got sick in the Navy. Well, one time I got a bad sinus infection in the Persian Gulf. That was it.

yeah i remember that i was a big boy in basic 201lbs, we got regular shots not the air gun ones, lol all adminstered by privates learning how to give shots lol, i remember alot of the skinny guys passing out from getting all those shots at once and being told to go pick em up and set them against the wall.. lol i think the worst shot was the one were everyone lined up facing the wall and dropped our pants and got the shot in the butt, then having to march in place for 5 minutes lol and if u ticked off the nurses they would give u a 2nd shot in the other cheek (gives new meaning to turn the other cheek)

Then waking up the next day getting out of the top bunk and falling because my whole right side was numb from that shot... ahh good times
