Help, I've fallen into the blogosphere and I can't get out!

It's recently been brought to my attention by way of a self inventory of my bad habits, that this forum is unhealthy for me. I get on here with the sole intention of checking a couple threads and then going about my business, but the next thing I know I've been on here for 4 or 5 hours and seriously decreased my sleeping time. Anyone know if there's a bloggers anonymous?

The really sad thing is, I don't really even enjoy trucking all that much anymore. Yet I don't seem to mind coming on here and typing about it. What a weird predicament.

Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Now I'm gonna try to refrain from clicking the "New Posts" link after I submit this thread right n...

I'm feeling the same way right now. It's been rumored around my company that I might be selected for the soon to be available dispatcher job. I'm torn on how to feel about that. On one hand, I'll be home every night and have most weekends off. On the other hand, I'll be losing about $100/week or more in pay.

Oh I understand all to well how ya feel but in my case living in the box helped me deal with issues at home and allow me some sort of social life. Social life.....how in the world can someone call posting online a social life ??

Oh well My delima is not present now so I'm tryin to break away from the which means even though I'm new you'll probably start seeing less and less of me.

Good Luck Scarecrow03

I know what you mean scarecrow. I try to stay away, but I can't. My job is on the computer all day, so it's to easy to hit the internet icon and here I am. I rarely get on the internet at home, so that's my relief, lol.

I try to avoid the political discussions, but sometimes I can't help myself.

I can't sleep more than about 6 hours at a time anyway so I get up, read the mail , cook and eat something , and check the board, sometimes I write and delete, sometimes I write, rewrite, and post, and sometimes nothing gets me going enough to reply. I used to do moderating at a chat server, among other duties, and I have learned that too much sitting gives me a bad headache and a sore backside.

I really enjoy writing, but I have been told there is no money in it anymore, and driving pays the bills. I am at the point where I have a love-hate relationship with driving, and am looking to change to another company because I'm tired of the one I'm with now, I'm not a job-hopper but too much crap has been taken by me to be happy there any longer. I quit and went back when they got me out of a truck that had a bad blow by problem and getting that and dust from a complete velor interior was causing me to have serious eye problems. It's tough to do a complete cleaning of a condo when you are too sick to function. They stuck me into another freak, a first year Columbia with crank windows, a small rating ISX, and a trick transmission that won't stay in 4th or 9th. The AC has been fixed but wont cool enough to drive in the late afternoon on a warm day. The power steering was blown out and the reservoir was empty, there was an exhaust leak off the turbo, the engine oil below the stick, the center carrier bearing on the drive shaft was out and the front differential had leaked enough to be heating up.. There were numerous other things wrong, I took it to a dealer and had the drive shaft bearing replaced and the leaky differential fixed, they had to order the parts for the AC. I'm just tired of the truck and any company that would stick a driver with a piece of crap like that.

How's that for "Blogging' or is it just whining?
