$400 - $500 Prize. What Contest Best?
Hi all, I just got off the phone with http://www.maximumsignal.net/ and they are interested in donating a prize, possibly, that is worth between $400-$500 in value. The whole point of the prize is to give http://www.maximumsignal.net/ exposure AND a GREAT prize to our members! My question to you ALL is what should we do for the contest? Some ideas are:
  • He/She who refers the most members to join this site (admin/mods excluded)
  • He/She who has the MOST/GREATEST posts
What other ideas, besides a last post wins type of post do you have? We will let http://www.maximumsignal.net/ make the decision as to who wins this prize in the end...we will give them the data and they decide to be fair. We are thinking the prize would be given right before Christmas time. Ideas? I want to get this together within a week or less, please. Thanks!

Well, now that ya mention it and this is off topic, I don't know how to give anyone a reputation point!!

But back to the topic. I was in internet marketing for two years. The more people who see the ad the better. If everyone including the welcome wagon could see the link it would get more hits. May help to include a small simple sentence pertaining to what they have to offer.

I think both are good ideas. Why not do both. I think the most/greatest posts is a fair way of doing it and the link in the welcome wagon would give exposure.

Define "greatest".

IMO, a "great" post would factor heavily on the "spirit of the post" --- it's "contents" --- rather than HOW it's written, to be fair.
Would it be an entry form type acceptance or a panel decides from them ALL?

I think it better be by entry, or y'all ain't gonna get ANY sleep, let alone restful. That's a lot of detail reading!

BUT!
On the other hand,................a great post could also contain only a few words.
Would it necessarily need to be Big truck related?
Categories?

By ENTRY might save you a bunch of time.
Or readers vote?

ANYthing's possible.
OR would MS rather not be a deciding factor?
