| Five wasn't enough I was just reading the posts here from the last day, and then I remembered a good line for when a person shoots someone and then they have to go to court over it for killing them. Attorney: Why did you shoot Mr. X six times point blank in the middle of your living room after he allegedly broke into your house? Defendant: Because five wasn't enough shots to stop him from attacking me and seven was too many. Ha. T

| In The News After waking up to strange noises and finding two burglars in his home last Sunday night, Cody Buckler grabbed his12-gauge shotgun. Buckler confronted the burglars and fired, wounding both. The intruders, each armed with a semiautomatic handgun, fled the scene and were arrested hours later when they checked into the hospital. Police spokesman Sgt. Jess Freeman said Buckler will most likely be protected by Colorado law, which recognizes a citizen’s right to use deadly force when defending his home against intruders.(gazette.com, CO. 2/1/0

| Remember folks, we shoot to stop the attack. Not to kill. Not to wound. To stop the attack. If the attacker is killed as a result, so be it. If he is only wounded, so be it. If you have presistent problems with another person (like an ex stalking or harrasing you) a paper trail helps. That's the only thing a restraining order is good for, creating a paper trail showing you were having problems with a person and finally were forced to defend yourself. Immediately call EMS and the police if you are involved in a self defense situation. Do NOT say anything to the cops about the incident. Present your ID, etc only. If you have to go sit in a jail cell or go to the station, do so. But get ahold of a lawyer before saying anything. I repeat, DON'T tell the cops anything without a lawyer. Yes, I know that being treated like a criminal and having to defend yourself about defending yourself ain't right, but you must go along with the system. |

| Wow where was this guy trained? Not sure which course he trained in. I was taught to shoot to kill. You take your opponent out period. You NEVER let an attacker "off." If you do you are simply allowing that person to resume the attack. I shoot to kill and am very capable at hitting what I aim at. That comes from growing up with handguns from a very early age. The first gun I fired was a .45 cap and ball (my father was a bit of a collector) revolver. Was knocked on my butt the first time I fired it at the tender age of 6. Dad switched me to .22 target pistols, carbines, .223 up to .32 then .38 then .357. For long guns he liked shotguns. He had a double barrel and a pump .20 guage. His training was through the army and he served during Vietnam. He taught me how to field strip the .223 he had and even had what he called "combat clips" taped together. 2 30 round clips reversed and taped together. Of course he had an ammo can filled with ammunition for each weapon in our home too. Needless to say NO-ONE messed with dad or his family. To his dying day he was a card carrying member of the NRA. I have said it before folks and I will say it again. You must have the capacity to pull the trigger and hit your target. If you do not have that ability then leave guns alone as they will be taken away from you and used against you.

But the law does look at it that you have a right to protect yourself from harms way within your home here in this state....Just dont shoot no one outside your home...Your in deep ##$% then..

| They do not have to be armed. YOU only need to be reasonable in fear for your life or the lives of your family. ANY time anyone breaks into MY home (enters without my permission ) I am in fear for my life and will DEFEND my self. I have NO idea what the other persons intentions are Except to cause me or my family GREAT BODILY HARM or DEATH. I will use any and all means necessary to stop them.. Again gun control is: #1--Hitting your target(s)... #2--Only one story to be told--your side... |

That comes from some people that I know who have many, many years of law enforcement and/or legal experience. You had better be VERY careful in what you say if you are involved in a self-defense situation. That includes postings on the internet, which a prosecuter out for blood could dig up and use against you. You may prefer to be judged by 12 instead of carried by six, but those 12 are likely to be stupid and or easily swayed against you. |
