Talking What was the first truck you drove?

Ok gotta ask.

What was the first truck you drove and who taught you how to drive it?

Mine was a C60 Chevy with a 5 on 2. My step dad threw me the keys and said "Move it!"

An old Reo -- with 3X4 transmissions. A straight truck.
Who "taught" me how to drive it?
Hmmmmmm
I'd have to admit that I'm still a work in progress.

Pretty much the same here.
Git 'er done.

When I worked for a Horseshoe factory (Thoro'bred Racing Plates) in Anaheim, Cal. -- the owner bought an old SoCal Edison Mack, with the front brake disable switch on the dash -- and a flat bed trailer with automatic landing gear, which he couldn't figure out how to drive it or back it.

While trying to back it, with NO success -- he exited the Mack in a huff. Cussin' and swearin' I give UP! YOU park the dad-burned POS -- to another employee.
That employee didn't want to attempt it, so he said, "Go for it, Art."

I did.
And within a couple of tries, I got 'er done.
The employee said, "You oughta be a Big truck truck driver, Art."

Not too long afterwards, while driving around my home-20, I noticed a sign being erected.

MTA Truck Driving School.

I parked and went right in and talked to the folks there. The very next day, I went back with several thousand bucks -- CASH -- and became the FIRST student to sign up.

The rest is history.
And the wonderful world of Big truck truckin' was changed forever.

It's twue!
It's twue!
