REALLY bad Chritsmas gifts!.....

Here are a few good ones, I feel sorry for the folks that posted these stories!
My mother-in-law, who not only was usually drunk, but cheap, gave me a pound of ground beef-right from her freezer. She stuck a bow on it and made such a big deal over it. And it was very greasy!

My worst gift ever was from my mother-in-law. A used popcorn popper with old, rancid butter in the melting cup! (And it wasn't a joke!)

When I was new at my former workplace the receptionist thought it would be hysterical to give me a plunger and a roll of toilet paper at the company Christmas lunch.
It was totally unexpected and beyond humiliating.

Well one of the funniest I remember was actually given to one of my uncles.

Uncle Edward was bald on top with just a SMIDGEN of hair on the sides and around the back of his head.

Well one year for Christmas his brothers and sisters (My Mom, her other brothers and sisters) went and bought him a toupee as a JOKE. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell uncle Edward was quite a prankster himself. So when he opened that box he "Lit up like a Christmas tree". Exclaimed that "Man alive this ought to be a hit with the chicks". Then got up, went to the bathroom taped it on and came out struttin around like a peacock.

It was funny as HECK, they were NOT expecting THAT response. He got their goat with his reaction.

Now I don't remember seeing him with it on outside the house, but EVERY year for Christmas, Thanksgiving or anytime the family got together he would put that thing on and SMILE like a mule eating briars every time one of them commented about it.

Guess who got the last laugh?????

The income my first year of marriage was very meager, so wrapped up around 10 gifts for my new wife such as: corn pads, bottle opener, party baloons, etc. just to have some nicely wrapped, cheap-gag presents under the tree, before giving her the really nice one that I could afford----a sexy nightgown (for me, of course!).

She didnt see the humor in the whole thing, and I didnt see 'that nightgown' for a while...<sigh>

The funniest was probably when we were kids. We always did a name exchange with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. My uncle Phil drew my younger brother's name, and as a joke along with the actual present my uncle gave him a bundle of hickory sticks.

He got paid back the following Christmas with a present from one of my horses!

When I was a deputy we gave one of the dispatchers a dil er sex toy for Christmas. And this was at the department party, where everyone opened their gifts on the spot. Everybody, including this much loved dispatcher, got a big kick out of it.

Today, we would have been severely disciplined over something like this. sigh. . .

LOL, my grandma gave my mom a set of bathroom cleaning supplies- brushes, cleaning liquids, etc.... for Christmas one year. She ordered it off of QVC (she lives in a retirement home & can't drive).

The next year she gave everybody self-testing blood-pressure cuffs for their birthdays.

My grandma is overall AWESOME....she has been very generous in the past with gifts of money, such as helping my mother with the down-payment on a house they were purchasing right around the holidays. And she helped me get my car. So it's not as if she's cheap or stingy. Just lately, she's getting older and spending more time watching QVC....she buys things that spark her interest without thinking whether or not they'd be "good Christmas presents". S'ok, she means well
