Scientology critics cite 2007 prediction of Jett Travolta's death

Avid critics of John Travolta's church, the Church of Scientology, are now linking to a website that eerily predicted his son Jett’s death in 2007. The critics claim that Jett was autistic and was not given the proper diagnosis and/or treatments because Scientology disapproves of psychiatric and drug treatment of autism, also rejecting psychiatry as a pseudo-science.
A 2007 post on Hollywood Interrupted told of a meeting between a Florida restaurant manager named Tim Kenny, the father of an autistic child, and Travolta. Kenny is said to have asked Travolta what special treatment Jett was getting.
"I don’t think it’s a stretch to call their treatment of Jett child abuse,” Ocala, Florida restaurant manager Tim Kenny tells Hollywood, Interrupted. Kenny claims he met Travolta at his restaurant in February, and, after “comping” the movie star and his daughter a meal per restaurant policy for celebrities, he asked him, “as one autistic child’s father to another,” if he “was doing anything special in terms of therapy” for Jett. Aghast, Travolta responded, “Well, we involve him in the arts.” Then, he offered to send Kenny a book, and high-tailed it out of the restaurant.

“If I ever received a Scientology book from him [Travolta], I’d find him, and throw it back at him,” says Kenny. “Scientology is keeping him from acknowledging his son’s autism. They see it as a weakness. That’s what the space aliens are telling him I guess.”

I think deep down Travolta knows he's gone to see God and not Lord Xenu or whatever the hell they call it. The sooner people realize this scam is not a religion and shut it down, the better off we'll all be.

In the mean time. Get a life, you freaks. Somebody's kid just died.

It is sickening to read the comments that people are posting. These loving parents just lost a child! This is not the time for debating Scientology. Who care what they believe in? They loved and cared for their child and now he is gone, that's all that really matters. It doesn't matter if he was autistic or not. There is no cure for autism, nor is it fatal. Butt out people and let the family grieve in peace.

I can not imagine a greater pain than the death of your child regardless of your religion. Those "avid critics" are no more than bottom feeders.

I wonder how those 'critics' would feel if it was their child? I couldn't even begin to think how I would feel. It's just something to awful to think about.

About the only thing worse than losing a child,
I think, would be if a parent knew that they
were somehow, --- directly or indirectly,
responsible.

Were John and/or his wife, somehow, responsible?
I don't know and I'm not going to speculate.
However, if there WERE medical treatments available
and they were deprived, it might make me wonder
about the wisdom in doing that.

Am I suggesting that's the case here?
NopE.

John Travolta's brother Joey thought Jett had autism

Ironically, John’s brother Joey had learned a lot about the disorder when he interviewed 65 autistic youngsters for a documentary called “Normal People Scare Me.” He even co-wrote the theme song, "Locked Inside of Me."
Joey could see Jett in every one of those 65 kids he spoke to (for the film.) It was so obvious Jett was autistic just from spending five minutes with him, but the cruel fact of their religion meant his parents simply did not accept it.”
John and Kelly have long denied suggestions that Jett had autism, saying instead that he suffered from seizures brought on by Kawasaki Syndrome.
According to the Telegraph, some health experts say there is no link between Kawasaki and seizures. However, it’s reportedly common for sufferers of autism to have seizures if they are left untreated.

I'll say it, the parents are to blame.

Oh my land, how can anyone begin to question if the parents are responsible?? SO WHAT if Jett did have autisim...there is no cure and at one point this child WAS on anti-seziure meds which led to organ problems. according to yet another "report"....maybe it was a choice manage the seizure as best as possible to AVOID organ failure/damage etc???!!!!

Nobody has a right to make such accusations, since NONE of us were there, EVER involved in the childs care, EVER talked with doctors about any condition he might or might not of had.

This stuff makes me so angry, attack,,spread rumors and NOT one person doing these things has any PROOF/ information to back up their claims.

Let these people suffer the loss of their child in PEACE, and pray to the good Lord above it never happens to you.

I've heard it said that things happen for a reason.

Following that past John Travolta's celebrity status, to the cult known as "Scientology" --- and their beliefs and disbeliefs in medical conditions and the potentials of medical science, rather than pseudo-science, I wonder if John's celebrity status might bring attention to what may, or may not, be a form of child neglect by anyone associated Scientology?

Celebrities are influential. And, as such, there are folks who will follow their lead, ..... just because. And without exploring just what it's all about.
Trendy?

Celebrities have been known to shop around for doctors who will diagnose a condition to fit the celebrity's desire. One has only to think of the reports of doctors prescribing drugs to celebrities that would otherwise be considered drug abuse and illegal if purchased on the streets. Celebrities have been known to become addicted to prescription drugs that a doctor SHOULD catch, but SOMEhow doesn't.

My concern IS for the children!
And if a cult is causing and/or preventing parents from seeking and/or accepting proper diagnosis, and/or treatment(s) --- perhaps that cult needs to be exposed.

If Mr. & Mrs. Joe Average-Citizen is involved, who hears about that? Which news agency reports that?
But when a CELEBRITY is involved, by golly, it gets national and/or world attention.

MAYbe it's time to take a closer look at Scientology?

Of course, it's a free country that allows us to worship whomever and whatever we choose. And, if I remember correctly, there's a 'religion' that won't allow blood transfusions.
Should a child need surgery, what then?
Or if a child were in an accident resulting in blood-loss, ...... what then?
Better to just let them die?

And what about a 'religion' that doesn't allow medications for pain?
I wonder HOW a parent can watch their child in agony when there's something that can ease their pain. And HOW it can be legal for them to do so?

And here's the kicker ----
Many years ago, I remember reading about a devout 'religious' family who's child was denied available medical treatment because to allow such treatment was against their 'religious' beliefs.

The child suffered terribly, as the parents assured their child that it was gawd's way.
The child eventually succumbed, in agony, of the treatable illness.

But it seems their gawd works in mysterious ways, as one of those parents was later afflicted with the exact same, treatable, medical condition. And the pain for that parent was also unbearable. SO unbearable, it seems, that THAT parent DEMANDED medication for THEIR pain. Medications that were denied their child.
Imagine that.

If exploring the reason(s) and/or cause(s) of a celebrity's child's death bring about saving another child's life ---
do y'all reckon it's worth it?
