my WORST day so far with Arnold

as of yesterday i WAS 13K overdue for PM svc.

been telling them since 4K over i needed to get in to do a PM, never got there

i started my day yesterday at 0630 in montgomery AL. delivered at 0800 in calera Al. 60 miles away.
had a preplan to pick up in scottsboro Al. at 1500 about 200 miles away

thought if i got there early i could load early.
arrived at 1230 waited till 1510 to get a dock, took till 1915 to get loaded (at that point i had 1.25 left on 14)

so i used that as my 8 hrs for a "split break" even though i got NO sleep.
had to deliver by 0600 in atlanta (200 miles)

at 2000 i got a preplan to pickup in atlanta going to indy by 2359 today (6th) called disp and advised about the PM they left messages for my DM to get in AM
got to con at 2145, dropped and bobtailed to austell terminal as i was SUPPOSED to be routed on that load to go get service. arrived at term at 2330

gat a call at 0710 from DM saying the indy load was off me.
0915 got a preplan AND a call for a load going from term to LIMA OH by 2259

DM said they needed me on this load, my truck wouldnt be gotten to/ready for a day or 2 that i was to get a "temp truck" (WTF) to deliver load. i explained that i was exhausted from doing a 20 hour day and how much trouble/time it would take to transfer my stuff to another truck. this

dimwit tells me "you dont have to transfer EVERYTHING" (YEAH RIGHT!)
i told him i am tired as hell and i will never make it on time with all thismoving around ####.

he said "fine, I'll tell them you are refusing the load"
and hangs up.
calls back and says "you are off the load but you will still have to swap trucks as we have ALOT of freight that needs to move" said he would call back, that was at 0930.

haven't heard a word since.
SOOO here i sit in my SERVICED truck (yup, they finished it an hour ago) wondering if i'll be sitting all weekend as "punishment" LOL

That doesn't sound good. I hope that they truly do have "so much freight" to move that they won't be able to punish you and make you sit.

Yeah Arnold seems to think you only need 1 duffel and a carry one... they always throw drivers on Greyhound at the drop of a hat (PM for truck, repairs, or need driver to recover) bam on the bus;1 Duffle 1 carryon unless you want to spend more for your gear, and maybe a return to your truck (last recovery it was "you'll be out 3 days" on the 4th day I got yelled at for out of route miles to get more meds from my truck at the terminal. They have taken the line drivers are a number and with 80% turn over in a "good" week the are quickly losing trust from experianced drivers. I sat for 4 days at a terminal while they figured a replacement for me from a non-preventable staring at 12 empty trucks.

I don't think you'll set too much, Arnold is one of the best companies out there I worked with them 9 months I loved working with them, sometimes they push to keep you moving but trust me if you work with other company will be setting most of the time and moving too much better then not, I took too much time off due to immigration when I wanna go back to Arnold they said they need me to get a hazmat cuz it's required but I'm forner and they won't let me have hazmat. what is good about Arnold they give you load after load none stop and that is how you make living I remember stayed up 2 days no sleep but when I get paid I forget what happened
my advise try to get over things and be nice to your DM so he makes your life easier GOOD LUCK TO YOU

I guess I am just an wimp or something but it seems ridiculous to stay up 2 days and drive. Stay away from me and my family on the road. I sure am glad that money makes it all OK for you. Maybe next time you do that and run over someone the paycheck will make that alright too.

Sorry - on my soapbox again. If you can't play by the rules and make the money you need to live in my opinion you have two choices. 1. live on less or 2. get another job.
