Many drivers told me I was lucky for getting 7 loads in one month. Some even got t-totally pissed. Arrow is a bad company, stay away. They also want YOU to buy v-boards that they dont even tell you that you need for a load of landscap rocks and stuff. I told them to cram it and took their truck back. Unless you like sitting, stinking (cant afford to shower), and losing weight like you are a pill popping meth addict (you will lose loads of weight), ummm, hearing your wife calling you being in the middle of telling you the light company turned the lights off, and hearing the words light co, and your cell phone getting shut off right then, or "we dont have any loads right now, wait out in the yard". If you like all that then go with them. Chances are though, you wont like it. Hopefully they will give you least one load a week. Might be small, but hey, take what ya can.

BINGO!!!

I've said it so much on this forum that I figured I'd let people figure it out on their own. I was regional and there was NO freight. More like local to Dallas/Houston when I left NC. Not worth the effort. I have to say that they did pay me on time and did pay me accurately. Also, the $200 will come back to you. Just go over the logs you have over the phone with them, send them copies if you need to. They'll give you your money back. They cannot afford any more lawsuits. Cant believe I lasted almost two months with them in that #### equipment.

Please. Please read this carefully. Do NOT go work for this company. I'm sure they were a good company in the past, but they are a 4th rate flatbed company now. Find another.

Their Flatbed "training" is bad and incomplete. I learned at TMC so I pretty much laughed through their entire "training". Their trucks are junk. Your truck WILL break down REGULARLY. Not to mention, you will have to clean out the previous drivers' filth before you get on the road. I cleaned out dirt, finger and toenails, used dental floss, used tissues, a bottle of idontwannaknow, shoes, a dirty sock, and scraped off some kind of sticky substance that was stuck on the floor next to the shifter boot.

You will starve. You will have weeks of 600 miles if you are OTR, and two trips if you are regional (26% SE Regional). You will have to buy your own winch bar, your own bungies, your own 2" straps. You will be tossed a load that delivers way out of your hour limit and will be expected to run it, then will be yelled at for DOT violations when you do. You will pick up a loaded trailer at a shipper that has broken lights, a flat tire, etc, have to go get it fixed (if they can afford to pay for the repair), then get yelled at for being late to the consignee.

You can do better with the many many other starter companies out there.

Search Google and Ripoff reports. You'll find plenty of ammo to make you understand what I'm talking about.

Dan,
Its a crapshoot. You can probably find a better company out there.
I just got on hometime, they actually got me home early, but I spent 7 days sitting it out at the shop with nothing more wrong than a headlight out.
I was held there even after I was told that I was 6-7th,then 3-4th on the list.
I finally had to get beligerant for someone to respond, then I finally ended up on the board for dispatch on Friday for a 1400 mile load delivering Tue.
I was going through my hometown ,and asked to be repowered, and they got me home.
I mean after all the B.S.,screw the few miles,I needed a break.
I actually brought home 1,300. for the month of Sept. Afar cry from the 70,000 a year I made in a different industry last year.
The economy is in the crapper, and my industry is dead,I came off of unemployment for this company, and I have had 1- $1,200 week,or 10 days actually since June.
The training isn't that bad for a newbie IMO,but you are left to figure alot out for yourself.
Hope this helps,

I hear ya. You might want to try Watkins Shepard. You'd probably be tossed into a truck almost right away. They have flatbed as well if you were interested but everyone on this board says they have plenty of miles available (3000+) if you want to run them.

Jarhead, thanks for the list. I graduate in early March and will start looking into those companies.
