I have a buddy of mine who is looking to buying to a wal-mart truck, where would go to look at used wal-mart trucks... not at an auction, but a dealership... could he buy directly from wal-mart?
any ex/current walmart drivers around that could talk about the maint. department and how their trucks have always been taken care of...
noticed all the wal-mart trucks at the dc have Tri-pacs which is a perk... I have heard that buying an old truck from them would be a great way to go...
he has cash money for a truck, and does not want anything brand new, or anything thats high maint. and would prefer a truck already with an APU,
is wal-mart the way to go?
also, any other suggestions on other places to buy good trucks from?
he runs the east coast, mostly I-75 from Ga to Mi, I-81 from Tn to Pa...
open to suggestions for trucks..
thanks from him in advance..

I think an EX-WAL-MART truck would be a good truck. They are maintained and driven by veteran drivers. They are not overly fancy but, very useable.
Look on TRuckpaper. There are a lot of used Walmart trucks on the market. -
I know a dealer where they have a few of those try this.www.baskintrucksales.com

I know out here in Colo there are always a bunch of them at the Taylor and Martin auction. You might check with them and see if the're at all of their auctions. They usually go pretty cheap, and all have tripac apus.

Well ask yourself this. How many Walmart trucks do you see broke down on the highway? Never. That should tell ya something right there. As someone already mentioned their are tons of them for sale in the truckpaper ranging from 03's and up from $15,000 and up. I'd buy one if I had the cash for a truck and was in the market.

I bought a walmart truck over 11 years ago. 95' intl, w/ 11.1 ser 60 det. started with 400,000 miles on it. drove 10 years & over 1 mil miles before having to replace anything, other than normal wear & tear stuff. original clutch at 1.1 mil. just had inframe done 5 motnhs ago with 1.4 mil approaching. paid $15,000 cash. still driving & plan to keep driving. I may be the only o/o to start as a o/o & to retire out of the same truck I started with. always got great m.p.g. for a coe. 6.5 ave.
