Okay, well today I got my phone call from Landstar, who informed me that they have denied my application, but to reapply in 1 year. I asked what the reason was for denying me, and they said all they could say was after reviewing the overall application, they had to say no for now. Which I don't understand, because I meet every single one of their requirements by a long shot. So I really can't make sense of it.

But now I am just hoping that maybe this is a good thing? Maybe there is another company an O/O can lease on too that works just the same...

    So here's my question...

Can any of you fellow O/O's tell me company's like Landstar, where you get your own loads etc, and get a percentage of the revenue? I will be doing Tractor-Trailer Dry Van 53' so that is what I am looking for.
Landstar is a 65/35 split on the revenue, and maybe there is a company that offers an even better deal than that?

So please, just give me all of them, so I can get on with my dream of being an O/O.

Thanks a lot everyone. You're always a big help!

I know what you mean. I can't think of any reason why they would have said no? I have been working on my credit, since there are things on there that aren't mine, and they DEFINITELY need to get off there. But besides that, I can't think of anything. Do you have any suggestions on what all I might need to check into?

Identity theft. The fact they told you to come back in a year indicates there may be licence convictions or accidents on your record.

If they deny you because of information obtained on a credit or DAC report, guess what? They are required to tell you, and required to tell you what agency the information was obtained from. Then that credit reporting agency (or dac/hireright) is required to give you a free credit report. You can also get a free credit report every year from all of the agencies, which is also required by law. However, an MVR is different, but you might as well pull it and see whats on it. Here in michigan its $8.
