Mostly, I deal with a few buyers, sellers, and brokers that I have dealt with for several years. Other than that, I have also gotten some loads off some company boards like LS, Maverick, JB, Werner, SNI, ect. Cuts out the middle-man.

huh???? i use DAT and Ch robinson loadboard. probably 50/50. sometimes DAT has a high rate low weight and sometimes CH Robinson. I've been very pleased with CH Robinson. I always call on loads from both DAT and CH Robinson and end up picking the best. I feel like they are very complimentary and both equally competitive on good rates. I've gotten many light loads from Ch Robinson - almost every week.

i have DAT at the moment and CH Robinson. They seem real complimentary to each other. I feel like I must checkout ITS ASAP:) I started with 123loadboard and that was a total scam - very few and all real crappy loads.

is getloaded posting different loads from DAT and ITS? Thanks

They'll each have the exact same loads as well as one will have loads another won't and vice versa. Brokers are like truckers and have their favorites too. Even the various different branch offices of a mega broker like CHR one office will favor one over another office choosing differently (of course their internal load board has everything they've got). Any of them work equally well imo. I like the features of ITS best but get loads from other load boards also. I couldn't rank one as any better than the other really.

Well put Rollin. I'm based on the left coast and for the most part usually have enough direct customers to keep me as busy as I want. I only use loadboards when it's quite locally or I take a load out of state for a customer and want to get something going home. However I usually keep a sharp eye on what's moving and the (usually pathetic) rates offered from brokers in the markets I'm working.
All in all I have to say I still like ITS the best by far.

MembersEdge is a Great board - I use it and love it. Its the same board as TruckersEdge (at first I was subscribed to it), but if you are a member of OOIDA, you get it with a discount of about $5/month off and they change your access from TruckersEdge, to MembersEdge (but all the functions are the same).

I used to have 3 pay for play load brds and use LS broker for general freight. A broker friend a few years ago told me that he used a service that posted loads on load brds automatically. So he made one post and it posted on all the brds at once. I noticed the same loads on all my brds. Now you can find some deviation from this. But the bulk of the loads will be on most of those brds mentioned in this thread. Even a LS load will many times show up on the pay for play brds. I would think the CH
    R loads also.

I would say you only need 1 or 2 pay for play brd. I went down to ITS plus a car load brd. Occasionally use LS.

The more direct customers and good Broker relationships you develop, the better your average rate will be. Many of the best Broker loads go to Truckers with good working relationships with the Broker holding the load. Every Broker has a short list of favored truckers. They will call those guys before they post. Truckers with that edge will know maybe days in advance when that load will be ready. And move to it in time to make the Broker and the customer real happy. These type of loads pay very well in my opinion compared to the advertised price coming from a load on pay for play brd.

The load brds allow you the opportunity to develop these relationships. If you do a good job. The best loads on average never get posted. They go to a favored Trucker (who is available to haul it), that has earned the Brokers trust. Brokers remember when we do a good job. The better ones anyway. Those are the ones you want to get to know.
