Well for first you have to be 21 to drive interstate

Second, the broker will give you all the information. You agree, they will fax you a rate confirmation. You sign & fax it back. The load is then yours. You then go get loaded. Retrieve your BOL from the shipper. Deliver the load. then fax the signed BOL to the broker showing that it was recieved.

Then 60-90 days... Sometimes 30 days... depending on the broker. You get paid!

They will either fax or email the info to you. The broker will pay you normaly in 30 to 90 days, although you can "factor" your invoices. Google that if you don't know what it means. I've known guys who got their start just on the business side, but if your gonna do the driving then you need to focus on that as well so you get to know the rules, trucks, and all the details that we can't list on here. Thanks alot guys, didnt know about the 21 rule, i have heard of factoring but not enough on details so i will "google" that beast, i have been around trucking abit due to my ex's parents own one but never really got any details on the inner workings, thanks for the info much appreciated

For what it's worth, you and your brother can join the military, but you just can't drive trucks yet........go figure. Actually you can probably still drive dumps or something like that.
