Base plate question

    just purchased truck and question is, if the company I lease to is providing the Plates does that mean they also register the truck since it's there plate or do I need to do to that.. or if I buy my own plate do you just goto the DOT to get them.. I am in PA

    Depends on carrier. My guess is if they are providing plates, it is their plates. In my case, the carrier is paying for my plates, but they are in my name and my plates. Part of my package is that they pay the annual fees for my plates for me. They did not "provide" me the plates, even though they did file the paperwork for me to get them when I bought my truck from a dealer and put it on with them. Plates were sent to me from the state. If the carrier gives you the plate to put on your truck, my money would be on that they own the plates and are just letting you use them.

    yeah its there plates I just wasn't sure if I need to register the truck or if they register to go with the plate they provide

    you register, they plate it.... If you really just feel the need to sign the title over to someone else then you can put it in mine.

    yeah there ya go.. so I just register like you do your car other then it costing alot more.

    If your company is providing the base plate, all you have to do is title it. Don't forget you have to pay the 2290 tax on it every year.

    yeah I saw the 2290 for 550.00 anything more the goverment can charge to make money
