Yeah, like i said earlier, we run with them during slow periods, sometimes its only for 2 weeks somtimes its for a cpl months. We didnt want to pay for an annual or 6 month trailer interchange insurance policy so the waiver works out for us. We still had to list them as additional insured, no biggie, it only cost us 50 bucks to do that. Even with that we still save 2-300 per year not buying the annual policy. I have never had a problem with them being on our insurance, guess I never thought about it too much either. The only problem I have had is there has been twice in the past year where we had to sit for the weekend, I was a bit pissed about that, but I guess it happens. Both times when it happend I called Bobby up there in recruiting and he had the fleet manager throw some extra money on the next load, it wasnt much but at least he tried. I have never had schneider or chr do that. I dont know if its the same for all the recruiters up there but he always helps me with billing issues or other questions I have. Its pretty nice to have a contact who can take care of stuff while I am on the road. Still its no one size fits all. it just works for us because of the flexibility.

Something is a little fishy Skeeter1371 joined in February and all of his post are in this thread spouting how great Hunt's sweet deal is.
I guess he smells fresh blood...
Why would one want to carry all of the extra cost of authority when one can gross those numbers leased to a fleet with less overhead? -
I surprised we are not hearing from people that have done this in the past and got nailed for trailer damage for trailers that they dropped and then a month later JBH made a claim for some damage. Or picking up a damaged trailer and not calling it in and some guard spots it when you drop it. I was in and out of JBH KY yard a lot in '09 and heard a lot about this.

My bad, thats was his fax number his phione number is 479-419-3059. I actually called him on Friday and askied him about claims on trailers. We've never had a problem with trailer claims but we needed to add a new truck to our account up there and when I called him to add it I asked him about it. He told me that he had only been there since last May but there had never been a claim since they came out with the trailer waiver that he knew of except for one carrier that he worked with had rolled a truck. -
Ha, fresh blood is right. I am always out for the kill. Improvise, adapt, and overcome, Semper Fidelis. I will NEVER lease my truck. I have done that before and hated it. Might as well had been a company driver for Panther. By NO means is JB perfect! I have just been lucky with them i guess. CH Robinson has a neat new program too, it's basicaly the same as JB's except you plan your own loads off the load board they have but it's still power only. I think JB has one too but everytime I ask about it they tell me its full. Im just thowing in my 2 cents since I have ran the program. In a perfect world we would all be making 2.50 per mile on all miles but hey, not everyone is in the area to get a customer base like that. I have only been in the biz for a few years and i am still learning. The whole question in the begining was about JB hunt program hince why I am writing about my exerice with them.Gears Thanks this. -
What about the base plate tag for those 12 staes that you will run? How much is that?
-
It will depend on what state you are in and what states you want to run, we have all 48 and if you can afford it I would get all 48 that way you open up your options for more freight. You gotta chase the freight man
Hardhead Thanks this. -
JB Hunt is up to $1.70 per mile loaded and $.65 deadhead. Also no more GL requirement for insurance
