If I wait let's say 5 days for a good rate. Want my fixed and variable cost per mile drive down my next rate. For example, if I turn down 1.90/mile and wait 5 days for 2.50/mile. My actual rate per mile at 2.50/mile turns into less per mile when I factor in my fixed/variable costs. So now my 2.50/mile turns into, estimating 2.05/mile. When you sit, you need to figure in your sitting cost per mile. Take your average daily miles and figure your fixed/variable cost. Then do the math on how many cents per mile it cost to sit. Subtract your sitting rate from your next rate and you get your actual rate.

The only complaints I had with JB and their Power Only program was they always gave us the real heavy loads, most were over 41K... -

Did JB Hunt tell you that they want you out 10 or more days at a run?
If you have your own Operating Authority, why are you going to work for someone else to make them money?
I have my own Operating Authority and I work when I want, and decided how much money I want to make.atrucker Thanks this. -
I'm just checking out the blog to see what everyone saying about it.
Does anyone confirm that they need you to run 10 days out at a time? -
I just happen to see a driver on that jb power program he told me you get the mileage rate +fsc
They don't required you to stay out any number of days but they like for you to do 7-10
You get a fuel card
You get 50% of the load soon as you pick it up
So far its not bad for someone leaving from a lease company stepping into independence -
I am super new to this board,
But we are small trucking company and we tried the JBH program once.
my drivers' ended up in MA for few days waiting on the loads and empty JB trailers. JB Dispatcher was never available also Fleet manager's voice box was packed and "no new messages please"recording.
We quit after 2 weeks, and got back on our own "look the ITS and call your good brokers" deal.
It was back in 08, JB is still calling us 3-4 times per week.
