No. Unfortunately it has an egr. It's an ex Penske truck. Nothing special.

So is it best to go with a DD 12.7 without the EGR? I found a 2004 Freightliner Colombia with the 12.7 that I was interested in...but I am sure it has the EGR..

    what do you all recommend?

I have a 98 FLD 120 with the 12.7 500 HP no EGR. I'm on a dedicated run, all loads are 45,497lbs avg. fuel is 5.6 to 6.1 depending on if I have a strong head wind or not ( yes really ) but I love the old girl, I try to keep her in top condition at the moment it's in the shop getting new king pins, new front spring bushings, an all wheel alignment. I lucked out an my motor guy is the head tech at the local Stewart Stevens, so he keep it running up to speck. but the best thing to me is I can get a compleat in frame for just under 7,000 grand parts an his labor. Can't do that with a Cat or Cummings. If the 10 speed ever goes south I'm going to put in a 13 which might help out some on the fuel MPG.

I'm looking to buy a tri axle dump. I found a nice kenworth t800 with a detroit 60 series 470 hp engine with 385k miles. Any info on this engine would be great.

Didn't they have a few pre-emission 14 liters floating around?

No. The 14L didn't come out until after egr systems were managed on 03 and newer engines.

Had a 14 liter 575 no egr. Put 964000 miles on it practically no issues. Blew a head gasket at 750000. Other than that nothing to speak of. Proved many a man wrong that flat out told me there were no non egr 14 litres by opening the hood. There did exist and they were powerful and reliable. Went to more than one Detroit dealer that had never seen one in person. It said "Series 60 1850" (for 1850 torque) on the valve cover. By the way Fyi you can get them in a glider if anybody is thinking about one.

Did you buy it new? If not it's likely the previous owner deleted the egr.

Just looked on Wikipedia, the 14L was first produced in 2001, so yes there was some with no egr. That royally pisses me off cause i purchased a new freightliner at the end of 02 in order to avoid the new egr engines about to hit the market, and the sales guy never mentioned anything about a 14L when we were speccing the build sheet.

It may have been an expensive option that some places didn't even know about, like specing a C16 over a C15. I think I read that most of the pre-emission 14 L went into luxury coaches.
