Any independent O/O out here ever use a company to review and scrutinize your forms and policies BEFORE dealing with the actual DOT new entry audit?

I was trying to work with Foley Services but it didn't turn out so well.
They were all available and in your face until they got my credit card
and then communications dropped like a stone. I filed a dispute and they did give me my money back.

I have most of this already done and the major stuff (like Drug/Alcohol enrollment)
but wanted a professional company that does audits, to review what I have and help me fill in any gaps, if there are some.
OOIDA offers tips but seemingly no such service..

So, I am looking for any recommendations....BEFORE I get my audit letter..

Just keep everything straight and up to date,......

As was explained to me by the DOT man I talked to back when I started the new entry audit was a chance for them to oversee your stuff and make sure your doing it right,....He told me no tickets for any issues and you get a chance to correct any mistakes,...

Of course that was 4 years ago and things may have changed,..

A simple free phone call to your local WI State Patrol will give you a chance to talk to an inspector and they will explain things,....They don't bite if your upfront and honest with them at this stage in the game,.....

    Hanadarko Thanks this.

    Thanks Walleye-

    I just want to have a perfect 1st Audit...if that's possible.
JJ Keller emailed me some checklist items (very well done) since I
already do business with them for forms and stuff....

It was free and free is good..

Talk to Bullhaulerswife. She's pretty on top of what you need for that. She can let you know what you need. Also, the WI DOT website has a handy little booklet that tells you everything that they are going to go over on it. From what Bullhaulerswife has said, it's actually pretty easy.

Also, you can get all the forms you need to have from either the FMCSA website or the WI DOT website. I have them all from when I was putting the numbers together so we knew what we'd need to do for getting Nik a truck. That was just before he got hurt. Still have all of it too.

The audit is all about paperwork, making sure you know what you need to stay legal, most of the info is available online for free if you look , FMCSA website has info and bullhaulerswife had a good rundown on what you need also. Its more about helping you out than hurting you, so don't stress out to much over it, just have your ducks in a row

Check your local state Motor Truck Assn. they usually know a local compliance person who would come in for a 1/2 day or a day to go over everything. It could be worth a few hundred for the peace of mind...

Then you will know who to call later if the crap does hit the fan...
