| Don't listen to all these naysayers. You can make a small fortune in trucking. Pay me a mere 25K & I will tell you exactly how to go about it. |

| He's not calling you a liar just stating that it's unbelievable that someone with that kind of money would even consider getting into trucking. Do yourself a favor and keep your money or you just might end up broke in todays economy trucking isn't what it once was. At one time a very nice living could be made as an O/O but today most make more as a company driver than an O/O does. Just my $.02 |

| Since there's so little background info to go by here, half of me wants to say take $100,000 to Vegas and stick it all on red on the roulette table. Other half of me says I could post a serious reply to your question. If you'd have posted the question with much more than just what little ya did, I'd be privy on helping. It does take money to get into this game and it sounds like you have it apparently, but it also takes a noggin full of trucking know, to make it successfull. Inheritance aside, without some trucking experience and sense to go with, I think the near 50% odds on red at the roulette table is the better option...(going off what's known anyway) Keep in mind the responses you've gotten are based off of your one single super broad sentance/question. Get a little more serious, and the replies will reflect it.

| if you really want to do it theres plenty of nice trucks around for $20 - 25,000 and used trailers around 10 if do have that much money you take at most 50k towards your buisness truck and trailer in the price range i put out that should leave you plenty of money to get started .make the buisness work for you and if you can't make your money back with that amount at least you won't lose that much . just look there are many people with alot of experience that have gone broke and out of buisness in the last few years take the rest of your money and put it at various banks in bonds or cd's for later in life.DONT BLOW YOUR MONEY! I know a guy that already has a truck and about a year and a half ago his mom died and he was left 2 houses and amost $325,000 in cash after tax's never even fixed up his truck , fast forward to now and he is totaly broke , pissed it all away on stupid stuff. he had to borrow money to pay the property tax on the houses or lose them and his truck is still a pos remember when anybody finds out you have that money you will have more "new best friends" than ever before be smart and good luck! |

| [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. Read this thread and it will help. Insurance will be hard to get so it will be hard to lease on to a small outfit since their insurance will not cover you without 2 years exp. Get your own Authority and if your lucky will be able to get some insurance through a broker who doesn't ask too many questions.(At a higher rate of course.) Then you still have to figure out how to keep the truck loaded. It will be a hard road but can be done. Hopefully you have someone to coach you along the way.......
