Just so you know, a truck needs to run to build the air to plump up the air bags. Perhaps that is why the air bags were not inflated? It sounds odd that they would approve you and then unapprove you a week later. Did they run your credit and did you have the down payment? I don't know Lone Mountain's policy, but some leasing companies and lenders will require that you have a lease or letter of intent in hand before they will approve financing. I am not defending Lone Mountain, but it sounds like there is more to the story.

Please let me know what red flag that is? A truck sitting on a dealers lot that isn't run will lose air over time. On top of that, you're looking at 500-700k mile trucks, the air loss will be more than a brand new truck as the bags are older. It certainly isn't a red flag. The trucks you saw with inflated bags were most likely run in the last 72 hours or less.

Gotta agree with Gman and SHC..Ive never heard of any lender taking a truck with a month missed payment or taking it from a truck stop unless it was abandoned there. Most lenders will work with the drivers as your right they dont want the truck back because wholesale at the auction wont bring them the money back that a driver who makes his payments on time will. But i can see the tracker on the trucks now a days for the simple reason to many trucks are getting dumped at truck stops and parking lots cause the guy has either quit or decided not to keep paying...

As far as the red flag. Ive also been in trks that lose there air in 20min also. The flag is all the internationals had there air bags up none of the other trucks on the lot did.so i guess your saying all the internationls were just driven before i got there thats why the air bags were up . Make since if that was the case. But it wasnt. Because 1 of the trucks had the hood ripped off it. Well unless they ripped it off after they drove it. Hope i made my point . Been around the block 22yrs now. Some but very little mech experience in marines. Air bags down i move to the next truck.

If your not capable of picking a good truck from a bad truck then mabey you shouldnt be buying one. Plain and simple. Lone mtn is no worse than any used truck dealer and better than many. Go talk to the fine folks in gulfport ms if you really want to see a bad co. They will finance people most wont if you have a good trucking history and have low money down. Do you want them to hold your hand and wipe your nose too?

If you have the money to pay cash then why don't you just find a truck and write a check? You may lose a few dollars on your metal investment, but if you want to buy a truck there is no better way than to pay cash. With cash you don't need to worry about whether you can get approved for a loan or making payments. All the money you make with the truck you can stick in your pocket other than the costs of operating it. If you know what you are doing you can probably make more by dumping your investment any buy a truck than letting the money sit. We are about ready for a correction on metals. If it were me, I would be getting out. If you buy a truck for $20,000 cash you could easily double or triple your investment the first year. Can you do as well with metals? I don't know that I will ever finance another truck. I paid cash for the first one along with the trailer. It is the best way to go if you have the discipline or resources. I think it boils down to what you really want. You can drive a company truck and earn a very good living. If you have good credit then I would check with a local credit union or your bank. It is usually easier to get money from those with whom you have a track record, as long as it is a good record.

Air bags are an easy fix. If there is a problem with an air bag it doesn't cost much to repair. Sometimes fittings can loosen with time and vibration of the road. If all of them were down then I would assume that they had been sitting for a while. If deflated or low air bags are the only thing that I could see then I would not discount a truck. Most dealers will make minor repairs before selling the truck. An air bag can be replaced for about $200-300 at the most. For the most part, it isn't expensive or difficult to repair most air leaks. There are exceptions, but most can be found pretty easily.
