    Where's the waterpump in a Detroit diesel in a Freightliner tractor?

    Who can send me a PDF File of assembly for 3126 CAT motor;
    I have a zero miles short block to build up.

    its the same place as it is on any detroit powered truck--right side about 8 inches from front--lower corner--just follow the lower radiator tube and hose

    Bud you're being way to vague. You need to list your year/model plus what Detroit are you working with?

    I looked on accessfreightliner but without any info I just plugged a vin off a 2006 tractor but without knowing for sure I'm not going to wade through all the BS service guides without knowing what your working on.

    I'd follow the above advice, a water pump is a very simple repair and easy to find.

    thanks for the help; I have Caterpillar engines, no Detroit experience
    at all.
    My son-in-law is taking the CDL test Monday and Thursday
    and the instructor is saying water pump is drivers side on shaft between air pumpand power steering pump. Looks to me a hard place to have a pump to make it sealed on both sides?? Also looks liike a gear case to power the pump from a geartrain from the camgear. Just wanted to make sure.
