Nice, that makes sense. Seems like the best way to go. I haven't decided on how I'll do ac yet. Can that roughneck be mounted on a roof like mine? At an angle?

I went with the Penguin this time, lower profile and works just as good.
The manufacturers list the maximum angle it can be mounted on, on their websites etc. I have seen quite a few on condo's though.
I tried portable ac etc, and it just doesn't work anywhere near as good as the rooftop. Cold air falls, it's simple physics really.
I also, a year or two back, saw a Volvo (IIRC) that had a rooftop on a condo. They made a fiberglass part that levelled the roof out and painted it the same as the truck. It looked VERY nice.
Basically came up from the front and tapered out.

That is one aspect where a midroof sleeper really shines. Putting a RV unit on top for AC. Protected by the air dam as well, if one has an air dam on top.

Generator sits in box. I can remove panels on the rear and side, and run the generator right in the box with the lid closed. Gets plenty of air and cooling. Have it running right now as I type this.

I'll have to mount a box on top in the middle. I only have about 14 inches between the tanks and splash guards. Well between the cowpie1 and leftlane setups I got a good handle on this APU setup. Way better route than a friggin $10k setup. Thanks guys.i don't see a quick ROI versus a company owner because I'm not idling every night anyway. But having more comforts is definitely worth $4k. Just not worrying about the batteries alone would be nice.

No. The box was built to the generator spec by KSH Marine. They will build any box to any spec you need to fit any generator you have in mind. They have pre-made configurations for the popular generators, or you can go to their spec page and design how what you need. they have pre-made boxes for all the Yamaha and Honda generators up to 3K.

Awesome info all - after I've just bought a EU200i generator today.

Tractor has an Espar for winter, spring and faal will be open window - it's just this summer I can't hndle. Off to buy tower AC unit in the AM and get to sleeping without idling.

    Yayy - TTR !!
