Can anyone tell me how to pay my FHUT by E FILE? I was told it was really easy. Also told that it's due by tomorrow, and I've also been told that the form isn't available yet, and the company that we leased to does not know where it is supposed to be anyway.

I don't even know who FHUT goes to...some mysterious tax collector? A google search comes up with nothing worthwhile. All I have a is a Qualcomm message that says "Pay your FHUT by tomorrow or your truck will be put out of service".

Anyway, I'm home with about 18 needle holes in my spine. So far everything I have tried to do, every doctor I've tried to see, every medicine I've tried to get this week has been a total failure, and now they're telling me that I can't even keep one truck on the road with my husband driving...because there is no way to pay the FHUT. I'm not even supposed to be driving a car. Is there anything I can do?

We've been paying $10.58 all year and we bought the truck right after the first of the year, so I don't quite understand why we have to pay for two years at the same time, either. Why do we have to pay while we're already paying?

Note that I am asking these questions AFTER going down to the carrier and talking to the person who manages this department, so a suggestion to ask the carrier is not likely to produce anything but more of a headache for me.

The feds give you until Aug 31st to have it paid. After that they assess penalties. You carrier wants it paid on the very first day you can even pay it or they put you OOS?? They smoking crack or what?

It is paid to the IRS. You need to look up 2290. Last time I looked the forms were not available yet. It is not due tomorrow, but August 31st. Make sure you complete the Schedule 1, this is the portion that is stamped and returned to you as proof of payment.

Officially, it's due July 1, but as mentioned above, you have until Aug 31 to get it in. You paid it pro-rated this year. Now it's due on July 1 to June 31. BTW it's $550.

Thanks, everyone. You wouldn't believe how much nicer it is just to have one more day to deal with this. Silly me, I thought it was Friday today anyway, although I think I have the June 30th day right. Anyway, looks like we have all of August, at least until the DOT parks our truck. This is our first year running as owners, with our lease paid off, and there is more to learn.

Nah, when they sold us the truck, supposedly (I should double-check on that) they had already paid 2011 FHUT, and so we've been paying them back for that, but now we have to go pay it for the next year at the same time, directly to the government. I've just never had to do this before. The company did it when we were leasing the truck.

    Ukumfe Thanks this.

You don't pay the previous owners the FHUT they payed, you pay just the prorated amount and they file for a refund.

Go ahead and pay it online, you still have to send the return in to get it stamped which makes paying it online kinda pointless.

No you don't. They send you a PDF with the stamp on it, now. You just print it and your done.

Also, OOIDA, if your a member will help you file it online.
