It is whomever has the contract who must have the bond. You can haul freight through a third party logistics company or broker and not have to deal with the bond:yes2557: Thast's just basic common sense, you guys make it out to sound be EATH SHATTERING news thats just leaked out.

BIGBADBILLS example of the other guy cutting the raste by 50% is reason for my earlier post about how some want to WAEZLE in and think only way is by low balling the rate.

I would not worry too much about dealing direct with major shippers. Many of them have gotten away with dealing direct with carriers, at least with smaller carriers. Some have gone to third party logistics companies or major brokers to handle their shipping needs. That doesn't mean that some don't deal with smaller carriers.

Before doing anything you need to decide which segment or niche' in the market you want to pursue. Hauling cars is much different than pulling a van or reefer.

Well I've done car hauling for about 3 years over 2 years pulling tankers and a lil dry van. So I'm at least familiar with those areas. But I'm definitely not pursuing anything until I have made up my mind.
