I installed brand-new Bridgestone Greatec on truck and trailer (445-50-R22.5) 120 psi.
After a few month I noticed kind of "weavy" wearing on the sides of a tires.
I called Bridgestone and they said it happens because of pressure being to high.
I rarely exceed 75000 pounds gross, so I lowered pressure to 100 psi on drives and 90 on trailer.
Well, after 1 year and 160 K miles it looks like I need a set of brand new drives. Those I have right now is a junk already. Even there is some legal tread left, there is cracks and tread separation in a few spots.
The question is: should I just switch back to duals and forget about that SS-fuel savings crap or give a Michelin's to try?
If I decide to use duals again, what wheel size to choose: 22.5 or 24.5?

My regular Bridgestone M726EL's have gone over 400k before I replaced them, and they still had 5/32's left..... I don't like SS tires due to the "egde" wear I see with everyone's and also the fact of getting a flat and being stuck on the side of the road waiting for a repair truck and nice hefty road service charge. I get 7mpg+ with a MBN CAT in a Western Star. I'm happy and feel safer

i have michelins and they do the same thing....go back to duals and never look back these things suck

I can switch drives, but my trailer was design for SS tires. Duals just wont fit.

I was thinking SS but other than marketing material I have not heard anything good about them on drives but mixed results on trailer. Most issues on drive have to do with traction in snow and rain. Even a little slip and forget about it.

I will tell ya something good about them!!!!!! I dont know why there are so many people on here who are either scared of or cant handle SS tires...I get a good chuckle anyways. I bought a used set of Bridgestone Greatec cap's, they had about 80% on em. I blew em up to 130, yes, I said 130 PSI and had a MD alignment done on my truck and have been running the for over a year now. Was at a tire shop about 2 weeks ago for a trailer tire repair and they stuck a depth guage in and I still have 20/32 EVEN tread all the way around. I check em every week, and rotate em every 50K miles. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM!!! One has to be somewhat smart to be able to handle these types of tires...not for steerin wheel holders.

By the way, I got alignment check before tires installation and half year after.
130 psi? How about Bridgestone's recommendations? They told me 120 is to much.
