On the cattle haul that would equate to $1.431/2 per running mile arfter his 8%, of course I'm sure you already know this. I would think you could get along with this, by the way who pays for any down or dead stock, if there is any? Good luck, both deals should give you plenty of miles, maybe too many sometimes.:biggrin_255:

First off are you planning on finding any haul backs on the 1000 mile runs? That's really low if your coming back MT. Its a 2007-2008 rate. If you are planning on haul backs then you need to figure you will be running heavy too. Most cattle loads will be 90K. Very heavy loads. When hubby was hauling cattle, he had well over 33% dead head, some weeks up to 45%.

You won't like it if you end up having to deadhead home every trip. Had a friend who was working a bullrack in a similar situation. Sometimes there were other good paying loads going anywhere usa and sometimes not. He always had a lot of deadhead coming home and it didn't last long. If you want to stay out a few weeks it might work out ok. If you're planning on coming home empty every trip that is cheap.
