becoming an owner operator

I have been driving for 6 1/2 years and thinking about going the o/o route. I have never drove over the road but i used to be a helper for a furniture company (Before I got my license) driving from new york to florida. I've driven moving trucks, dump trucks, roll offs, tag trailer, dump trailer, low boy, drop deck, and currently drive pulling a 28' pup reefer trailer. Im very independent 26 years old good work ethic. My questions are, am i doomed without the otr experience, what are bills and finances that i should be aware of to be successful, and is it possible to just do regional runs not otr? I currently live in SC and would like to find something where im not out on the road everynight. I've seen some companies say home every night. I don't have to be home everynight, just dont want to be out everynight of the week. Thank you

 

ok thanks i have a job a pretty good one i just have to rely on to many people to make my day a good one. i look up regional work everyday just to do some research and some places say 300 mile radius or home everynight if you live close and thats what i am looking for just need to know more about o/o
