I am getting my own authority and I own the truck and trailor so I wanted to know what others are charging per mile I have seen 90 to 1.25 plus fsc as a o/o leased on Im not trying to go that route seems like not to much money to be made I was figuring around 2.80 for 500 or less 2.50 from 500 to 1000 and 2.25 from 1000 does this seem fair or you guys got a better idea you can run past me

There sure are a lot of guys on here lately asking what to charge. Know your cost of operation and charge accordingly. How can you know what to charge if you don't know what your truck costs?

I have already purchase a truck and trailor so I dont need to figure in the payments for those I fuel is really high nowa days but im trying to get a ball park figure on everything see what everyone getting and everything Im working on a couple accounts pulling from florida and cali but I wasnt forsure if what I was going to charge them was too low or too high because even at those prices I will still make a profit but if its way less then the market then Im losing possible income -

If you are looking for lane specific average rates there are industry publications where you can get that information.
Not knowing your cost of operation is a recipe for disaster. -

Seriously dude, look into a franchise... There is no way you are going to survive the second yr with those kind of rates. You cannot compete against the mega carriers. They buy in volume (tires, fuel, oil) and haul volume freight.
If you want to make it, you will have to offer a service that no one else is doing or a specialty market.... seriously.SCHULTZ Thanks this.
