Hello. Here is the question to the experienced users of the product. Anyone currently uses / used two cycle oil in their diesel fuel?- pros and cons?
    Synthetic, semi, tcw3,low ash, mineral.
All the info that you have from experience would be great.

    Thanx.

No, never hear of this but I do use Lucas fuel additive on a pretty regular basis and swear by it.

Wal-Mart tcw3 is the cheapest. An ounce for every 10 gallons or so of fuel in my '07 Ram 5.9L ISB. Did that every fill up for a while after LSD was no longer available. Don't mess with it any more. No noticeable difference aside from possibly a tad smoother idle. Improves lubricity and there is no over doing it. Came to the conclusion it was a waste of effort and money. ULSD has to meet government minimum standards for lubricity meaning it's the same as LSD by the time refiners mix additives in.

Magnum, what happens when the Fuel Tax enforcement guys dip your tank and your fuel comes our red in color? We all know what red/colored/dyed fuel is and what it's for.

Don't mess with the two cycle junk. If you want better lubricity and maybe a gain in mileage I would look into a true diesel fuel treat...not crap made for weedeaters. There have been many tests on the fuel treats and the results are on the web. I have posted results of a blind independent study that was done a few years ago. These results I gathered from another diesel website (The Diesel Garage) and were posted by a member there. Many guys would be shocked at how poorly the big mass marketed fuel treats work. Powerserv, Howes, and Lucas all have negative or no effect in helping engine. Heck Howes even lets fuel gel at around 5* many times since they had to change the formula. Do a search on this website for fuel treats and you will find the thread with it. But if you want to run cheap crap in your fuel go right ahead...who knows maybe they will give you that peice of paper you need.

I've seen that study and at least another one or others somewhere else showing (what you were saying) that most of the aftermarket fuel additives are total snake oil as far as lubricity is concerned, some even making it have less lubricity - due to the solvents some of them have. Two stroke oil will improve it, and was shown to do so in one of those studies far exceeding everything except an expensive additive called (I believe) "Optilube". Honestly I think they are all a waste of money and the only time I've ever needed anti-gel additive was when running through WY one winter a few years ago seeing ambient temps of -25* to -40* F.

I use Schaeffer's diesel treat products; and a fuel air separator.

Let me clarify couple of things: if you use the product, explain b4 and after. I don't want to know that you use xxx and nO other info. Please, if you have no personal b4 and after then do not post anything. So far: I swear by Lucas - who cares what you swear by if you do not provide the results of it after use. Same thing goes to Schafer. If you use something without seeing any benefit, don't waste the space on the board.
    Thank you.
Again, your opinion,if it is uneducated or only theoretical, only should be known by you, not me.
