Well i have to say the install took about 10 min and my first impression was good , my idle seem to smooth out and I thought my idle had increased , in the past as i turn up my idle speed it has always gotten smoother so i assumed that the idle speed had increased but no it was still pegged on 675rpm it just was running smother also my when i jake up to a stop my jake sounds different and cruising down the road my exhaust sounds more throaty/ deeper what's all this mean probably nothing have i noticed more power ,,, doesn't seem to be,,, have I noticed less shifting ,,, not that i can tell.. Do i think my mpg will increase ,,, no I don't.
But .5 mpg increase can be hard to see over the short term. Running this week, there has been so much high wind, tail wind, head wind, side wind, so much wind even 80 was closed at rawlins wy when i arrived there.
Recently my avg has been 5.7 with 5.5 the low and 6.11 the high.
This week so far has been 6.06 avg with 5.45 the low and 6.67 the high,,, all this week has told me is nothing,,, just to much wind to have reliable numbers we will see what the next several days may bring.

But you did hit it that winter is a tough time to test anything fuel mileage related. I hate to idle and there are times it is so cold I will leave truck running while I fuel just so it stays warm. -
Most people don't even really keep track of their fuel mileage on paper, so they can go back and review it to really see if there are truely any changes. Most all of us know what we get for fuel mileage in our head based on weather, terain, etc. The only way to know if something has any kind of effect on fuel mileage is to have hard numbers on paper for atleast a year before trying something. Without a baseline anything else is purely speculation.SHC Thanks this. -
I have to agree about checking fuel milage heading into the worse time of the year with poor fuel quality and bad weather seriously hurting MPG that can be over 1 full MPG when compared to the Summer driving months.
We won't talk about bio-diesel making it more complicated testing too.ECOTAZ Thanks this. -
//////////////////////////Before ///////////After ECO //////////Savings
Low Mileage //////////5.5 mpg ////////////5.45 ///////////////-.009 * Less than 1% loss
High Mileage///////// 6.11 mpg ///////////6.67//////////////// .091 * 9% Fuel Savings
Average MPG//// 5.7 mpg//////// 6.06 //////////.063 * 6% Fuel Savings
This is driving in Very Windy Conditions and Winter Blend Fuel with the ECO!
If Diesel cost is $3.70 a gallon:
Before Cost per mile: 64.9 cents After ECO 61 cents
3.9 cents per mile savings
Does it work? mmmmmmmmm?Last edited: Jan 2, 2012
