It's ok to dream. I was told once, as a child, that "if wishes were fishes, we would have something to fry. If sticks were horses, the beggars could ride."
Average cents per mile?

I get usually between 2.25 and 2.60 to get out. Usually around a 1.30 to come back. However, I have older equipment and I am home roughly 3 1/2 days out of the week. It works for me so far. Reefer is slow this time of year. I figure as long as your banging out between 5-6k a week your doing ok.

Can you send me a PM, I tried to send you a PM but my post count wasn't high enough apparently,

Uncle,
Got your PM, and it won't even allow me to reply to it, I need 7 more posts lol, well 5 more now... -
thanks to all the replys looks like my numbers would be fairly close.
SHC Thanks this. -
1st of all, it all depends on a persons need, break even bottom line which INCLUDES drivers pay. This is the tricky part that most people lose me.... You have to have PROFIT above and beyond your basic break even point. 1/2 the price of fuel is really cutting yourself short. If you can end up at the end of the year of "ALL" miles ok... but to end up with that, you need to make more to cover deadheading an other unexpected cost.
I'm not going to speculate a persons need per mile, but I will say that I haven't hauled for $2.05 a mile in yrs... maybe 3 or 4.
