Question I have nine years of OTR experiences and now I want to become an O/O and least on with Landstar. Where can I get a descent truck where I don't have to put a lot of money down and I don't have the best credit.

Persistence is the is the key to success! I too have been in your shoes, but with good financial planning you can get it done. There are many lease companies on the internet for bad credit finnancing (search bad credit semi truck lease). Have a copy of your credit to shop as inquiries will add insult to injury. I have so many friends in your shoes I am in the process of planning a pilot program to net in those with your scenario (posted today-considering a pilot program). Have a company that will go down to 550 and you dont have to lease on with a company that is NOT going to compensate you for services. If you are good, safe, hard runner, you should not have a hard time finding the right place to maximize your time-Good Luck!

Landstar will look at your credit and abilty to support your truck. They are tired of bailing out underfunded OO only to have them leave owing them money.
Make sure you have a job for the truck before signing for it. -
They used to require a credit score of 620, I think it was.
Perhaps they dropped that requirement now, it IS easier than before to get on there. -
can you write a business plan?
