It seems like everytime fuel prices spike up the fuel economy scammers jump in high gear with sales hypes of false claims of products that do absolutely nothing to save fuel.

I thought I would post this very good video from good source about Fuel Economy Scams that I have tested few of these devices also to come to the same conclusion. I hope to keep this thread about only those products that have been tried with actual experience with these products and not just unqualified opinions without any actual experience with the product.

    [ame="http://youtu.be/kFMDxek9vKs"]Youtu.be[/ame]

I never tested the first device with the swirling of the air going into the intake or the magnets on the fuel line so maybe somebody can post a comment about those if they ever tried them?

I believe the trucking equalivent of the first product is the Aircell Intake Spacers that I have never used and would like to hear from somebody who has used this product or something simular?

The 2nd product is the fuel line magnets that I have not tested one of those either and would love to hear more about them from somebody who has actually used them?

Now to the ones I have used and agree with the professional in the video with the first one is the one he shows that is the EcoTaz and my testing agrees with the video that is a scam and does nothing to help fuel mileage. There is an entire thread here that busted this product and even showed how sleazy the professional salesman for the company was when his product was busted: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...z-eco-fuelsystems-fuel-enhancers-does-95.html

I also had a Turbo3000d Vada that I believe the EcoTaz was copied from and was only changed with some copper screens in it to avoid patent infringements and being sued. The Turbo3000d Vada did not work either and was taken off my truck years ago. Another magic tube in the fuel line scam.

Now we come to the last product he showed and that is the Hydrogen Generator that I tested back in 2008 that I am not sure may have cost me an inframe with a cracked head after the Hydrogen Generator melted down. Stay away from the hydorgen generator unless it is built out of stainless steel and has all shut down sensors for over heat and low electrolyte built into it. I didn't see any gain from this device when it was working correctly.

There is also all kinds of fuel additives and one in particular, Xtreme Fuel Treatment that was sent to me to test that done absolutely nothing. I know this is the same crap that we all get phone calls from those promising great fuel mileage by adding a couple of ozs of their product that cost around $100 a gallon. I always got rid of them by asking for a free sample.

From Howes to Lucas I have found none that I can say increased fuel mileage and only used for lubricity reasons with my older diesel motor that I found in alot cheaper product by using Wal-Mart 2 cycle oil that does the samething if not better for only $12 per gallon.

As far as oil additives goes, my experience with synthetic Mobil-One 5W40 motor oil is that you don't need additives to make it better and I have tried several from MotorKote to Lucas with no difference seen in fuel economy.

If anybody has any experience with any of these devices or even some not mentioned, please post here that hopefully our experiences with these products can save other O/Os time and money on useless fuel economy scams?

Again, please only those Professional Owner Operators post your experience with any kind of fuel economy device that your experience can be shared good or bad without starting another flame war on here.

Thank you and spread the knowledge!

And how many gallons does that treat?

I thought the Lucas fuel injector cleaner was expensive at $30 per gallon.

Then comparing it to the Power Service at $20 per gallon.

The lucas treats 400 gallons. The PS treats 250 gallons. Makes the Lucas cheaper.

I use the Wal-Mart 2 cycle oil around 120:1 and you can really use it however much you need to and even one of the tests on pickup truck magazine used it at 200:1. I maybe using it heavy, but too much can't hurt when it comes to lubricity in older motors and the new crap for fuel ULSD.

    120 gallons to 1 gallon.????

If that's the case, your Walmart is more expensive than Lucas too.

You'd need almost 4 gallons at $48 cost to equal the lucas at $30 for one.

If I'm not mistaken, that 'professional salesman' is actually Ben Talamentez, the owner and founder of the 'company'.

Used fry oil triple filtered, I have no clue on the new and shinny engines but it works in older engines.

You can use up to 30% of used fry oil, make a friend and take it.

Seriously, going to start a thread on fuel scams. The last thread caused enough arguing.

I consider 1 gallon of Lucas = to 1 gallon of Wal-mart 2 cycle oil and anybody can use either at what ever ratio they need that works for them.

Lucas' name on an NFL stadium and several race teams don't come cheap with that cost passed thru to the retail shelves.
