    Hi everybody,

New to the forum here, so forgive me if this is thread is in the wrong area. Been in the industry for a few years working as a dispatcher and broker.

Problem I'm running into lately is that I have a new customer trying to move truckloads as heavy as 45,378....and I can't find anyone willing to haul it. Can go on either a 48 or 53 dry van

Can anybody provide me any suggestions of places to look that will have carriers willing to move these loads?

    Thanks,
    Craig

Depends on the lane. $1.90-$2.10/mi for my current run (300 miles, can deliver same day. I'm not sending it anywhere thats a dead-zone either, plenty of freight to come back out).

Most people I talk to don't want to do any more than 44,500

They may be worried that there are no nearby cat scales, and perhaps there must be state scales along the route before they can reach a scale to check. The weight is not an issue for some material (# pallets) but other loads it can be a real problem, especially if the loader or driver does not know how to load a given number of pallets in a 53.

And if it's not a clean, palletized load that can be easily reconfigured if loaded nose-heavy, I wouldn't touch it, either.

Sending you an email. Since I'm new it wont let me send private messages yet.

The product is asphalt sealant, palletized bags/boxes, non haz.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

Thanks for the info, STexan. I have faith that the shipper will load it properly. They send these all the time, same pallet count (18 , same product. The people I have spoken to at the warehouse seem to have their act together. Then again, I could be wrong. I'll have to look into where the nearest CAT scales are.

    Thanks again!
