which truck would interest you more?
My hopes are a truck with a 13spd, 3.55 rears and APU. APU is not critical as I can just add one of those later. I'd likely buy new as this truck would be driven for 3-5 years and then upgraded to a more CA friendly truck.
These are the three trucks on the top of my list right now to possibly purchase.....
The two KW's are pretty much local to me.

Jon,
If the 13 speed is the deal killer, than the Coronado is out.
But since you asked - of the 3, which would interest ME MORE - it would be the Coronado.
An '03 W900 with only 127K miles? My 1 year old BUS had that many miles, when I got finished with it, and I bought it new.
The 04 T600, has more realistic miles on it - but is probably closer to requiring some major maintenance.
Coronado doesn't state mileage, but does have an APU and paperwork for an overhaul (which I would examine and verify with the place that did the work), but DOES have an APU.
I'm not a big Freightliner fan to begin with - but I like the Coronado's better than the Centurys or Classics. Since they're all essentially the same truck, with different cabs - we're talking LOOKS and SLEEPER LAYOUT here.
Myself - I'm shopping for a 10-12 VNL780 - D13/I-Shift - Sub-400 miles, still under warranty. But I'm looking at an all-cash purchase in the $70-90 range - and the condition of the interior, and accessories is really important to me. Which is why I'm waiting until December, end of model year trade-ins, and inventory reductions - as the time to buy. APU goes on right away (if it don't already have one) as I'm not going out for 3-4 weeks at a time, in a 6' prison cell - that doesn't have A/C, TV, Microwave, Fridge, etc. - and have to idle 10 hours a day.

Unless you are specialized and not worried about weight, then that should be the first consideration. And if memory serves me the Coronado is a heavy truck. But you need to be thinking 45k in the box and 48k on a flat. Now don't start asking about all the weights of trailers, etc.
BTW, you must be driving the little woman crazy this weekend. -
I'd have to examine them to really know. But just from the pictures, I would say the W900 will have some resale value no matter how many miles you put on it. It's good to think about the back end value as well as the front end. The T-600 looks clean for an 04.

Um, there's it's moments.....
And what is this trailer you got there gonna weigh?
I am thinking that W9 is going to push 18,5 to 19K -
Operating out of SoFla - getting out into the lanes for a month at a time, interior comfort & ride quality is a big consideration for me. If your lanes are "closer to home", and you're getting home a lot - creature comforts would probably have less importance.
But I'm in agreement here. Coronado IS a heavy truck, and will bring your net cargo potential down.
Friend of mine runs OS escort - was telling me about his boss's "really cool 144" ICT sleeper truck". had to explain to him, since it's already an oversize/overweight load - weight of his tractor and wheelbase is inconsequential. For the "rest of us" that have to get in and out of tight places, and roll across scales with an 80K limit - it's real important. Would I like to have a shower, sink, potty? Sure, if I'm only if I'm hauling 20K loads (or specialized).

Have a driver that has a Star and isn't having issues with 45K loads (other than he doesn't like pulling anything other that pillows) so W9 should be ok. But I would check the door to see what it is at. Rollin has a 600 and I am sure he knows the difference between the 9 and 6.

Really no difference at all with the cab and sleeper on a T600 or W900. The ISX/T600 should easily scale 46K full of fuel (dual 120's ??) pulling a dry van the W900 might not be as heavy as you think it doesn't have a studio sleeper. The W9 likely has a fresh overhaul. I'd take the W9 that's just me. I've got a T600 I like it but I'd rather have a W900 with hindsight. I'd prefer the 6NZ CAT motor over any other, good power and won't leave you on the side of the road. I'm getting 6.2 mpg the past 2 months, haven't run my fuel mileage numbers for year to date, but do know what I've done the past 2 months. My motor is well maintained, new air fileter every 50K, overhead ran every 100k or once a year whichever is first, fuel filters changed/cleaned every 10K, I pull mostly light loads less than 10K lbs. Less than 8 % idle speeds 70-75mph..
MNdriver and BigBadBill Thank this. -
I would get the W9 with the 6NZ any day over the others just to avoid all the emission crap on the other two trucks.
MNdriver Thanks this. -
Guess what's HIGH on my list to do on Monday?
Discussing it tonight, we have the truck in mind we want to seriously get towards and will be working on that this week.
